We are looking for a knowledgeable Electrical Engineering resource to join our Life Sciences team in support of a pharmaceutical client in the Phoenix, AZ area. This individual will be responsible for serving as technical lead for all upgraded electrical feeds from the local power provider into the site to assure they are properly designed, sized, able to be properly maintained, and meet the design standards as well as serving as a primary point-of-contact for key construction and engineering stakeholders.

In addition, this person will assist in ensuring equipment and systems are implemented with long and short-term sustainability strategies in mind. These responsibilities can include the implementation of solar at the site, any potential water conservation measures, and other sustainability opportunities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

    Coordinate with design, engineering, and construction management firms to assure proper electrical design is incorporated for all aspects of the project.Work closely with the construction management group and 3rd party suppliers to align with sustainability deliverables and the integration of them into the overall project schedule.Demonstrate advanced knowledge of electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, automatic transfer switches, and power distribution equipment up to 480 volts.Responsible for the upgraded electrical infeed system to the facility to meet site design standards.Assurance that all electrical infrastructures are properly designed and sized to meet the needs of new equipment installations, including production equipment, facilities, utilities equipment and warehousing operations.Accountable for project initiation, planning, and overseeing project execution, implementation, and closeout.Responsible for the creation/revision of engineering drawings and specifications.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

    Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience required preferably in a pharmaceutical or engineering environment.PE license and/or Certified Energy Management credential preferred.Demonstrate strong knowledge of solar PV systems and their installation, advanced knowledge of power distribution systems, and plant assets including production equipment, utilities, HVAC, and facilities and their power requirements.Previous specific experience with engineering design of continuous power supply generation and distribution system is preferred.Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic.Advanced knowledge of cGMP, GAMP, and OSHA regulations, National Electric Code, NFPA-70E, ANSI standards, and IEEE design standards.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
