Job Details

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real-time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

The Manager, Software Test will build and manage a team of Software Test Engineers that will design and implement tests for both R&D and production software integral to Eikon’s drug-discovery and related product development efforts.

About You

You have a desire deeply understand the broad scientific and business context (the “why”) of scientific experiments as well as “how” these experiments are designed, performed, and analyzed. You are a compassionate manager able to help your team juggle competing priorities and stay focused on long-term goals, while encouraging them to have flexibility to keep up with the pace of experimental science.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and lead a team of test engineers that will work closely with product management, software development and scientific teams to ensure high-quality software tools
  • Write and review test plans in some cases in a controlled document environment
  • Design and implement integration and end-to-end tests for existing, new, and third-party tools
  • Identify gaps in unit and component-level tests and coordinate multiple software engineering teams in filling these gaps
  • Compile metrics on code quality, complexity and gaps in test coverage and drive improvement with the software team

Qualifications

  • B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience as a manager of professional Software test team
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum workflows and Atlassian CI/CD tools such as bamboo, Jira, confluence, and X-ray is required
  • Experience with testing tools such as Celery, Selenium, pytest, and postman is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with scientific software and automation systems in a multi-disciplinary biotech environment (e.g., high-throughput screening, genetics, microscopy)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team oriented, flexible, able to adapt to rapidly evolving goals and challenges
  • Enthusiasm for gaining biological and drug discovery experience essential
