The Role:

Moderna is seeking an Associate Director of Quality Assurance based in Modernas Norwood location. The individual in this role will be responsible for providing Global Quality support and lead Quality improvement initiatives. The individual will serve as the global product disposition business process owner and work to align systems and practices across Modernas global Quality organization. The successful candidate must have experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical development environment and knowledge of cGMP quality systems.

Heres What Youll Do:

  • Responsible for establishing and aligning the end-to-end integrated Batch disposition process across Modernas global Manufacturing and Quality operations.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Systems and Compliance, and Quality Control as the Disposition Process owner to assess and implement changes to electronic systems that impact lot disposition

  • Ensure changes to foundational electronic systems are communicated globally within the Quality organization, ensure appropriate procedural changes are implemented, and training is provided to global Quality personnel

  • Work closely & effectively collaborate with QA Operations leaders as well as the Quality Assurance teams to champion and lead improvements to the lot disposition system globally.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot and remediate where needed

  • Continue to proactively drive continuous improvement for the disposition process and where applicable other quality & business processes

  • When needed:

    • Write, review, and approve GMP documentation (SOPs, protocols, technical reports, specifications, etc.)

    • Support quality master data set up and changes in SAP

    • Support APQR efforts

  • Manage quality relationships, oversee, and manage contract manufacturing sites

  • Review relevant sections of regulatory filings

  • Provide guidance on GMP manufacturing from Phase I to Commercial

  • Performs other administrative/managerial duties as required.

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • BS or equivalent and 10 - 15 years of experience, or a Masters level degree and 8 - 10 years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

  • Working knowledge of relevant FDA, EU, ICH guidelines and regulations.

  • Strong experience in quality disposition processes including country releases preferred

  • Experience with cold chain and effective management of shipment related quality aspects preferred

  • Experience working with CMOs, vendors, and relationship management required

  • Excellent judgment and ability to communicate complex issues in an understandable way.

  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, rapid growth, and adaption to change.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.

  • Ability to be agile and effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.
