This is a basic research position that requires critical thinking, flexibility, multitasking, great attention to detail, and the ability to utilize an automated infrastructure to support the continued advancement and implementation of the teams screening capabilities and growing collaboration support throughout the Moderna ecosystem.
Provide immediate support for established in vivo screening assays (cytokine profiling, ELISA, various Fluorescence/Luminescence assays).
Support the team in the collection, analysis and reporting of data utilizing various automated high-throughput assays for evaluating drug product performance.
Document, analyze, interpret and present data to internal parties.
Accountable for project success and delivery of results in a timely fashion.
Closely collaborate with other members within the Biological Science department and broadly with departments throughout the company daily.
General laboratory assistance including ordering and receiving of lab supplies, preparation of reagents, and lab equipment maintenance.
Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:
BS/MS with 0-5 years of industry experience (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioanalytical).
Automation experience using liquid handling systems is preferred.
Familiarity with various bioanalytical platforms is desired (e.g., Luminex, MSD, Ella, Capillary Electrophoresis, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
Capacity to multi-task and meet aggressive timelines, research and technology development goals.
Familiarity with general biochemistry/molecular biology techniques (ELISA, FACS, Spectroscopy).
Candidate must be curious in exploring new paths for drug discovery, bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas. Furthermore, the candidate will work collaboratively within multifunctional teams and must be relentless in pursuing successful outcomes.

In over 10 years since its inception, Moderna has transformed from a research-stage company advancing programs in the field of messenger RNA (mRNA), to an enterprise with a diverse clinical portfolio of vaccines and therapeutics across seven modalities, a broad intellectual property portfolio in areas including mRNA and lipid nanoparticle formulation, and an integrated manufacturing plant that allows for rapid clinical and commercial production at scale. Moderna maintains alliances with a broad range of domestic and overseas government and commercial collaborators, which has allowed for the pursuit of both groundbreaking science and rapid scaling of manufacturing. Most recently, Moderna's capabilities have come together to allow the authorized use and approval of one of the earliest and most effective vaccines against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moderna's mRNA platform builds on continuous advances in basic and applied mRNA science, delivery technology and manufacturing, and has allowed the development of therapeutics and vaccines for infectious diseases, immuno-oncology, rare diseases, cardiovascular diseases and autoimmune diseases. Moderna has been named a top biopharmaceutical employer by Science for the past seven years. To learn more, visit www.modernatx.com.
