We are currently searching for a Senior Scientific Writer, Strategic Planning to support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is a hybrid position in either Bethesda, MD or Research Triangle Park, NC.

 

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with program staff on development and implementation of strategic planning and evaluation projects, including input on project designs and processes
  • Provide science writing and editing support for online and other written program communications materials, such as reports, responses, and testimony.
  • Conduct project-related activities for the institute and senior leadership, including developing needed materials, power-point presentations, arranging discussions, and facilitating interactions
  • Support program evaluation of specific institute programs and strategic priorities, including the use of data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Coordinate, support, and participate in the institute and NIH evaluation activities; provide notes and summaries of relevant discussions.
  • Complete progress reports, summaries, descriptions, and other materials as indicated to help ensure project timelines and appropriate communications with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Requirements
  • Ph.D. in an Environmental Health Science.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Expertise statistical computing/graphics/data visualization software (e.g. R, Tableau, or similar.
  • Expertise working in Microsoft Office suites.
  • Knowledge and experience in environmental Health Sciences (e.g. Genetics, Public Health, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or other related discipline is a requirement.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge in statistical computing/graphics/visualizations.
  • Highly proficient in quantitative and qualitative methods for analysis and program evaluation.
