Senior Full Stack Java Engineer

Dovel Technologies, a Guidehouse Company is looking for a Senior Full Stack Java Developer supporting a new program/customer initiative. This is a Full time role and work location is currently remote due to the pandemic but eventually be Rockville, MD.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform application development and support for both front and back-end programming.
• Understand and apply design methodologies including Object-Oriented Design and Analysis and Domain-Driven Design
• Understand and leverage common architectural styles and patterns (SOA, Microservice, Layered, Clean, Event Sourcing, CQRS, etc.)
• Understand and apply quality techniques and practices (automated unit testing, Test Driven Design/Development, java performance analysis, continuous integration)
• Develop web-applications utilizing React, Typescript and other tools like Node and NPM
• Problem and modification identification, classification, and prioritization.
• Mentor and inspire our team members by helping them to hone tech skills/expertise
• Collaborate with technical leads and product owners to acquire and understand requirements / acceptance criteria when applicable
• Provide support for critical production issues.
• Design and development of RESTful APIs
• Provides expert guidance in terms of security
• Develop functional and appealing responsive features for new and existing projects
• Creation and maintenance of system documentation and artifacts
• Be part of Agile/Scrum cross-functional team and bring your own unique skill set to the table and collaborate with others to accomplish team goals

Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in an associated discipline or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities 
• 8+ years of software experience, both front-end and back-end development experience
• Java 8+, Spring, Hibernate, Maven, relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSql, etc.), REST Services, Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
• Excellent proficiency in JavaScript including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• UI development experience with ReactJS and good understanding of Redux, Routers, React workflows and Lifecycle.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environment
• Demonstrates critical thinking to problem-solving
• Self-motivated, ability to meet deadlines
• Design backend database schemas, using concepts such as Database Normalization write basic SQL statements
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge of user centric design and follow all regulatory requirements (such as Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act)
• Experience in an environment where Data analytics and machine leaning is part of the enterprise architecture
• Knowledge of maintaining security continuous monitoring. 
• Familiarity with DevOPS and technologies that we use (Terraform, Docker, Ansible, Serverless Architecture)
• Experience with AWS platform services, and application/service deployment in AWS

Compensation

The proposed salary range for this position is $120,000- $155,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors such as geography, experience, certifications, etc
