HYBRID Work Arrangement - This role is considered a hybrid position that is within a commutable driving distance to the Summit, New Jersey office to work onsite 1-2 days per week and attend occasional in person meetings / events as required.
The Opportunity
As the Director, Global Marketing, Influenza Vaccines, you will lead the marketing strategies and activities of global, cross-functional strategies for Seqirus commercialized products, inclusive of Cell-Culture (Flucelvax), Adjuvanted (Fluad), Egg-based (Afluria). You will lead a team of contributors that focuses on key strategic Commercial needs for the organization, including, global franchise strategy, market launches, life-cycle management, product positioning, pricing strategy, publications, and more.
As a member of the Commercial Development Team and you will interface regularly with Commercial associates across the globe as well as cross-functional business owners in relevant functions, such as Regulatory, Clinical Development, Legal, Medical Affairs, Business Development, Finance, Research & Development.
The Role
Global Franchise Strategy
Lead the Global Product Teams for commercialized franchises (Fluad, Flucelvax, and Afluria)
Execute upon Seqirus’ global differentiation strategy; develop Franchise strategic imperatives, and cross-functional tactical plans to achieve commercial objectives
Drive cross-functional strategic activity with relevant stakeholders (regulatory, medical affairs, legal, clinical development, finance, etc.)
Execute the development and socialization of the annual Integrated Franchise Plans. Socialize the plans across the organization to drive cross-functional implementation of on-strategy projects
Provide strategic input into long-term strategic pricing plan for commercialized products
Lead and oversee the development and socialization of global materials, claims, and messages
Lead the implementation of franchise-specific projects on an annual basis
Optimize the clinical and real-world-evidence outcomes and publications through strong partnerships with Medical Affairs and Commercial Operations
Influence global committees, such as MCC, to help Commercial teams meet their business needs
Lead the development of business cases that support future investments by Seqirus
Develop and implement annual life-cycle management (LCM) strategies that allow for short and long-term growth of Commercialized brands; Align these LCM strategies with Commercial Region heads as well as cross-functional leaders (R&D, Regulatory, and others)
Oversee the budgeting for the team and identify cost improvements/efficiencies where possible
Influence Commercial Regions
Lead and coordinate product launch activity for new markets; prioritize functional activity to meet the needs of the business
Partner with Commercial Operations to develop tools and strategic assessments that help promote Seqirus products vs. competitors
Drive appropriate market research to close knowledge gaps, inform strategic direction, and anticipate market needs
Collaborate on major decisions with Sr. Director, Global Franchise Planning and other Regional Leaders
Cross-Functional & Team Leadership
Influences cross-functional Leaders to develop necessary tools (data generation, real-world evidence, regulatory licenses, etc.) to facilitate the implementation of the global franchise strategies
Maximize the utilization of all available clinical support for commercialized products
Liaise with Medical Copy Clearance (MCC) members to support the development of global claims, messages and materials to our global franchise strategies
Oversee the management of external agencies and consultants as needed
Utilize Market and Competitive Intelligence to inform strategic direction
Present strategic plans and other relevant items of importance to Senior Management, including Seqirus Leadership Team
Assure of appropriate training and development of personnel
Your skills and experience
Bachelors of Science required, with MBA or MS (Pharmaceutical or basic sciences) preferred
Minimum 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 8 years of experience in one of the various pharmaceutical functions, e.g. commercial, sales, or marketing, preferably within vaccines
Minimum 4 years of experience in managing personnel, project management, and leading cross-functional global team’s
Strong experiences in identifying, engaging, and managing ad agencies
Strong marketing operation experience at least in one key market required
Experience in growing established products, particularly across regions or through global capacity
Intercultural experience and ability to lead in a complex and rapidly changing business environment, preferably 4+ years
Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a global environment
Strong knowledge of business processes within the pharmaceutical industry, e.g. forecasting, strategic planning, budgeting, project management, etc..
Proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint and other Microsoft applications.
