The Role

The Sr. Manager, Global Meetings and Congresses Lead has responsibility for leading both the Meetings and Congress Operations globally across all brands. This role will monitor and manage the groups effectiveness, provide counsel, promote cost savings initiatives, and ensure programs follow consistency and standardization while adhering to controls & compliance guidelines. This position reports to the Director, Marketing Operations and interacts globally with the Marketing, Medical, Sales, Finance, IT and Compliance. The role is idealfor someone who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environmentand has demonstrated ability handling diverse live event projects in support of multiple brand teams.

Heres What Youll Do

  • Establish and maintain business plans and develop positive business relationships with sales and marketing, and other senior management to ensure the plans align with the Commercial Organizations goals and objectives

  • Lead and facilitate business process assessments, making recommendations, socializing and facilitating implementation of changes

  • Fosters good working relationships with Medical Associations to promote Moderna presence at Global and significant Medical Congresses

  • Forecasts costs and manages budget. Negotiates favorable pricing with a wide variety of vendors. Ensures timely payment of invoices and billing reconciliation, including accruals with Analyst and Finance. Ensures colleagues explore cost savings opportunities and synergies

  • Maintain data analysis collect, analyze, and distribute feedback and metrics on programs and provide a top line summary including recommendations for next years plan. Seek out ideas and opportunities from brands.

  • Support the Director, Marketing Operations, providing consultative advice as it relates to optimization and develops KPIs, based on input from relevant stakeholders

  • Direct and lead the day-to-day activities of Global Meetings & Congresses including managing schedules and vendors

  • Evaluate, develop/update and implement department SOPs and processes as needed

  • Bachelors degree

  • Minimum 8 ofyears relevant experience

  • Ability to influence without authority and interact with all levels of internal and external personnel regarding every aspect of Meeting & Congress Management

  • Successfully managed internal and/or external teams while contributing individually and can demonstrate their development to others

  • Demonstrated a high degree of competence in all elements of the role listed above

  • Understanding of best practices across the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong organizational and project management skills (multi-tasking is a must)

  • Continuous Improvement and/or Change Management skills

  • Solid business acumen including managing budgets and forecasting

  • Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills; ability to influence without authority

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to travel domestically and International
