We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America. The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacturing, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Summary:

The Project Manager II Position will play a critical role in the delivery of the Drug Product and Finished Goods building for Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies' Holly Springs location.  This exciting position will involve global collaboration with our sister site in Denmark, partnership with our EPCM contractor, and ensuring alignment on project goals, budgets, and timelines. 

As Project Manager, you will be the liaison between engineering, construction and operations teams facilitating effective execution of facility design and construction. In addition, the position will support the start-up and commissioning of Drug Product and Finished Goods Equipment. As the project phase concludes, the position will map to an engineering operations position supporting the operating unit of Drug Products and Finished Good Manufacturing.

 Detailed Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the project delivery team, and with the support of the Discipline Engineering team, drive completion of DPFG detail design to facilitate construction needs and   Focus will be on building elements (CSA + MEP).  
  • Manage cost and schedule execution of selected work packages (exact packages to be defined in coordination with the candidate)
  • Take on critical projects at the request of, and reporting to, the Senior Leadership Team
  • Actively participate and collaborate within the Factory X initiative to help capture and drive valuable input into the DPFG cloning strategy
  • Support Project Controls with cost, schedule and risk evaluations, and mitigation development
  • Adopt the “one team approach” acting as a partner with our EPCM firm to remove hurdles 
  • Review and advise regarding field changes
  • Participate in daily construction status/planning meetings during project phase 
  • Actively engage in the construction planning process 

Preferred Requirements:

  • BA/BS in engineering and 5+ years' experience successfully executing complex projects
  • Pharma/cGMP practical experience; preferably in an aseptic filling environment
  • Emphasis for this hire is on attitude (Positive Can-Do attitude) and strong collaboration
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities 
  • Acts with detail-driven ownership and follow through
  • Working knowledge of principles of critical path scheduling
