About HR Business Partner, Workplace Experience – Waltham, MA

The Alloy People Team is looking for an HR Business Partner with a focus on Workplace Experience to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. The position will report directly to our Head of People to support an exceptional employee experience and the performance management program with a progressive people-first mindset. You will lead the onboarding process, benefit enrollment, performance management program, track and optimize HR programs, coordinate team events, and be a resource for the team at our headquarters in Waltham. The successful candidate will bring positive energy, have high attention to detail, and exceptional ability to follow up and follow through.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the employee onboarding experience, including pre-hire communications, coordination of first-week schedule, payroll set up, and creating an excellent experience for each new team member
  • Execute new hire and mid-year change benefit enrollments; collaborate with the people team for annual open enrollment
  • Facilitate the Performance Management program across the team including the semi-annual promotion process, quarterly manager meeting, and OKRs; implement best practices and process improvements to the program as needed
  • Coordinate with leadership / hiring managers to develop a 90-day onboarding plan and define OKRs for new hires
  • Lead HR operational responsibilities including org chart, payroll and benefit audits, HRIS and other reporting metrics, creating collateral/resources for internal communications with the team, and COVID safety
  • Coordinate and track special programs and projects within the people function (e.g., birthdays celebrations, swag, work authorization/VISA applications)
  • Collaborate with operations and office management for our headquarters including coordinating guest visits, weekly team meals, and maintaining café inventory and stock
  • Be the go-to person for students in our co-op program
  • Be an ambassador of Alloy culture and plan team events to foster a collaborative community
  • Collaborate with our Marketing and Communications team to support our social media and digital media presence (e.g., LinkedIn, website)
  • Be generous when others are needy, greedy, or fearful

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • BA in HRM, Leadership, Business Administration, Communication, or related degree
  • 4+ years of experience in an HR, administrative, communication, or related position
  • Working understanding of HR best practices and procedures, including familiarity with employment law
  • Experience composing policies, memos, and slide decks for company-wide communications; excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to operationalize and execute around office logistics and HR programs
  • Passion and enthusiasm for supporting a team with a people-first mindset
  • Experience and desire to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize a wide variety of tasks
  • Exceptional ability to follow up and follow through with tasks and responsibilities
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • An independent sense of urgency, persistence, and integrity
