JOB PURPOSE:

This role will support new process improvements of consumables that are moving through the development stage. This role will support design and development of both new microfluidic components and their manufacturing processes. This role must be able to work with hand tools, power tools and machinist tools to manufacture and modify parts to suit the needs of the customer. This is an entry level research associate position in the biotechnology industry with the opportunity for growth in design and development.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist engineers in developing, testing prototypes of new products, processes, and procedures
  • Monitor and adjust processes or equipment for quality and productivity
  • Provide feedback for improvements to processes and testing documentation
  • Work with design and process engineers to execute experiments and collect data

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • AS/AA or higher degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent experience.
  • Microfluidic experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with Biotechnology industry a plus
  • Knowledge of biochemistry, biology and/or other life sciences a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of PC computer software and hardware.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with life sciences instrumentation, a significant plus.
  • Clean room experience a significant plus
