The Amgen Commercial Leadership Program (CLP) is a career opportunity for candidates interested in continuing their professional growth after graduation and embarking on their journey towards becoming a leader at Amgen. This 3-year program includes three 12-month rotations across our Commercial (sales and marketing) organization.

Potential experiences you will engage in:

 

Sales

  • Working together with field-based Amgen colleagues to sell one or more of Amgens products to primary care, cardiology, nephrology, oncology, rheumatology, or dermatology customers
  • Create and implement business plans for customers in your assigned territory through tactics such as lunch-and-learns, dinner programs, and congress/exhibit booths
  • Gain a critical understanding of customer needs and access implications while practicing delivery of impactful messages

Marketing

  • Complete strategic brand priorities by developing, executing, and measuring tactics within a given channel (HCP Promotion, Multichannel, Direct-to-Consumer, etc.)
  • Plan the launch of a new product, indication, dose and/or diagnostic
  • Synthesize data and analytical insights into strategic brand recommendations

Value & Access

  • Supporting payer engagement strategy and pricing decisions by developing models and running strategic scenarios
  • Developing and rolling out an engagement strategy with key payers and other relevant partners to improve patient access to Amgen products
  • Ensuring the quality of Amgens payer/provider contracts and discounting activities through above-brand strategic initiatives

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in final year of an MBA program
  • Scheduled to graduate no later than summer 2023
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in current program

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of work experience
  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or health care industry experience
  • Sales and/or marketing experience
  • International work experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact well with all levels of management
  • Substantial leadership experience and skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a team and matrix environment
  • The ability to effectively operate independently and in ambiguous situations, across functional lines, and with both internal and external customers and/or stakeholders
  • Solid analytical, quantitative, organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to deliver results within aggressive timelines and amidst challenging priorities
  • Receptivity to regular coaching and feedback from management and peers
  • Geographic flexibility to accommodate evolving corporate needs, goals, and objectives
  • The location of sales rotation assignments will be based on a combination of company needs at the time of hire and staff interest, which requires that the candidate be geographically flexible for this assignment. Daily travel to locations such as doctors offices, clinics and hospitals is also required during sales rotations.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
