Specialist IS Business Systems Analyst

What You Will Do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital individual contributor role, you will have broad responsibility to co-develop and implement technology strategies, solutions, and services to support Amgens Global Medical business function

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business requirements and perform detailed business analysis of the process/systems for assigned business capability
  • Streamline existing processes, support deployment, configure and test systems to ensure successful implementation of stakeholder business requirements
  • Responsible for effectively eliciting IS requirements through working with various scientific teams, developing compelling business cases for IS investments and leading IS implementation projects to deliver value for the Global Medical organization globally
  • Work closely with other business and IS Process Engineers to identify opportunities to stop inefficient practices, simplify business processes, and codify into automated solutions
  • Effectively manage relationships with IS service owners, business partners, enterprise IS service partners, and vendors
  • Support the introduction & implementation of any new technologies to Global Medical Publications portfolio
  • Work across multiple IS services supporting Global Medical to develop IS solutions required to enable and further progress business capabilities
  • Leverage data design patterns and architectures to generate system designs
  • Manage internal and external vendors to ensure optimal delivery of the build and run services
  • Lead select IS/Informatics delivery projects as Project Manager
  • Working closely with the enterprise architect and platform teams to ensure that the applications are aligned with the overall architectural and development guidelines
  • Acts as a run manager, provide Run/DevOps support, assess risks and options to maintain and fix production issues
  • Maximize the value of technical capabilities by optimizing functionality, harmonizing, & streamlining effectiveness of technology platforms and assets
  • Own and manage product backlog delivery
  • Implement and maintain adherence to Amgen's IT standards, principles, and practices

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree

OR

Masters degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience

Or

Associates degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent communication skills to work across and up through the organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impacts
  • In-depth knowledge of large enterprise applications/platforms like Salesforce, Veeva, Anaplan and Tableau
  • Basic familiarity about database technologies, data analytics and visualization
  • Ability to work in a changing environment, high pressure, balancing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Experience in program and project management including business case development and financial management during project implementation
  • Established habit of proactive thinking and behavior and the desire to self-start/learn and apply new technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of biotech/pharma industry regulations, GxP standards and data
  • High learning agility, innovation, technical mind set and analytical skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders and management. Demonstrate strong collaboration across all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies, work cross-functionally in teams (internal and external)
  • Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of new platforms, languages, tools and technologies
  • Experience with Agile/Iterative Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and standard change management practices
