Position

The Hardware group at Eikon Therapeutics develops super resolution high throughput microscopy stations. This multi-disciplinary group of engineers is responsible for architecture, research, and manufacturing of highly complex systems for internal use. The Hardware team is seeking an Optical Assembly and Test Technician to support internal development process

About You

The selected candidate will be responsible for the assembly, alignment, and test of complex optical assemblies. That includes lasers, laser combiners, fiber optics, beam shapers, Hi-Res cameras, filters’ assemblies, illumination, and detection modules. Some of the tasks might require working in ISO7 class clean room.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform assembly, alignment, and test of complex opto-mechanical assemblies
  • Perform laser characterization by following establish procedures
  • Use measurement and test equipment
  • Perform cleaning of optical components and assemblies using approved solvents
  • Help to develop optical assembly processes with feedback to engineers

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in a opto-mechanical assembly and test role for optical products
  • Use of hand tools and mechanical fixturing for opto-mechanical assembly
  • Familiar working with optical components like lenses, mirrors, prisms
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of basic optics technology
  • Can read and follow written and verbal English work instructions and communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Perform cleaning of optical components and assemblies using approved solvents.
  • Use mechanical and/or optical measuring equipment
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of basic optics technology
  • Able to help develop optical assembly processes with feedback to engineers
  • Experience with laser test and alignment systems
  • Experience operating optical test systems
  • Intermediate mathematical skills including use of basic math and geometry
  • Basic MS Office software skills required, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Good documentation practices
  • Team oriented, flexible, able to adapt to rapidly evolving goals and challenges
  • B.S. in optics or closely related field desired
  • Familiarity with microscopy desired
  • Familiarity with handling lasers and fiber optics desired
