This Senior Accountant role will report to the Associate Director, Accounting and will be responsible for supporting the Company’s general ledger close process for areas such as cash, investments, prepaid expenses, payroll, fixed assets, accruals, intercompany transactions and other general accounting areas. The successful candidate will be a strong team player who is detail oriented and has the ability to pivot fearlessly when necessary. The candidate will be expected to apply the Company's accounting policies to ensure an accurate, high quality and efficient monthly and quarterly financial close in order to meet the Company’s external SEC reporting/filing timelines, while also ensuring compliance with the related SOX controls and US GAAP.
Responsibilites
  • Assist in the monthly close process, including, but not limited to, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for fixed assets, accruals, prepaids and other aspects of financial close.
  • Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
  • Monthly trend analysis to ensure all expenses are captured and booked according to GAAP.
  • Assist with other accounting function, including review of contracts and payroll processing
  • Work closely with AP Specialist and other departments to ensure that purchase orders and invoices are booked appropriately and reflect correct GL accounts, project coding etc.
  • Provide support for external financial audits and prepare schedules as needed.
  • Assist with Sales and use tax filing, property tax, Delaware Franchise tax and other business compliances.
  • Special projects and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent with a solid knowledge of GAAP, general ledger and financial statements 
  • Self-motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects and tasks.
  • 6 years or more of relevant experience required.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Coupa, Mineral Tree or Bill.com desired
