The Enterprise Data Solutions and Engineering (EDSE), a Pfizer Digital organization, is responsible for the development and management of all data and analytics tools and platforms across the enterprise – from global product development, to manufacturing, to commercial, to point of patient care across over 100+ countries. One of the team’s top priorities is the development of Business Intelligence (BI), Reporting, and Visualization solutions and products which will serve as an enabler for the company’s digital transformation to bring innovative therapeutics to patients.

As a senior member of EDSE’s Commercial and Real-World Data (RWD) team, the Global Commercial & RWD BI and Visualization Product Lead is a transformative, collaborative, visionary, and inspirational leader with deep expertise, a passion for coaching, leading and inspiring functional teams to solve for tomorrow’s business challenges by creating targeted business intelligence and data visualization solutions at scale. This is a highly visible and influential role working across multiple business segments globally to deliver best in class BI and Visualization capabilities that enable impactful business decisions and high engagement user experiences. This role will have advanced understanding of business and analytic requirements to deliver high-impact, relevant interactive data products and data visualizations that drive company performance through continuously monitoring, measuring, identifying root cause, and proactively identifying patterns and triggers across the company to optimize performance. This role will work with business units and digital leadership at the Vice President level and below to understand the growing business needs and strategies where the application of Business Intelligence and Data Visualization capabilities can accelerate the speed to insights to decision making.

This role will lead a team of seasoned engineering experts in architecture, design, and roadmap for commercial and RWD data systems, focusing on business intelligence and data visualization products in service of the business units’ colleagues and analysts, , well over 20K+ in colleagues. This position is a global role with globally located team members reporting to this role and as well as teams that will matrix and collaborate with this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Sr. Director, EDSE Commercial and Real World data, this role will be responsible for technical development and engineering of business intelligence and visualization solutions and products globally.

  • Strategically Partner with Vice Presidents, Sr. Directors and Directors of Business, Analytics and Digital to develop a business intelligence and data visualization roadmap for the Commercial and Medical business units
  • Influence and provide advisory to senior business leaders and business unit heads on the application of BI and data visualization capabilities to lead step change improvement to drive business optimizations.
  • Define the future vision, strategy, and roadmap for the enterprise BI/Data Visualization Capabilities in partnership with stakeholders from US and International businesses, clearly articulating the need and value for bringing in new technology capabilities to the organization and for scaling.
  • Create a product-centric approach, expanding the business intelligence, data visualization, data interaction products, currently with a yearly spend of over $10M.
  • Apply the understanding of the data consumption patterns to develop and evolve the current BI capabilities by formulating BI as a global product as a strategy with planned roadmap, release schedule, and feature enhancements.
  • Innovate for the next generation of Immersive data and information interaction experience and displays beyond traditional flat panel experience.
  • Directly responsible for cross-team collaboration initiatives that ensure EDSE and its partners are leveraging data technologies and business intelligence products to the fullest.
  • Broad understanding and application of all types of Biopharmaceutical data used in service of Commercial, Patient Health & Impacts, and medical business units
  • Accountable for engineering development of both internal and external facing BI and visualization solutions by conforming to EDSE and Digital technology standards.
  • Experiences in BI and Data Visualization product ownership, including ownership roles such as roadmap, evangelism, development, and lifecycle
  • Partner with internal / external partners to design, build and deliver best in class data products globally to improve the quality of our customer analytics and insights and the growth of the use of Real-World Data in its role in helping patients.
  • Understand current BI and Data Visualization trends in the operating business and implement technical strategies in servicing of the business results.
  • Lead the growth and development of directors, senior managers, managers, and associates.
  • Establish a culture of high performance, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate outstanding collaboration and operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Experience and Educational Requirements

15+ years of strong multi-discipline experience, with a preference for experience in technology strategy and management, management consulting and product engineering.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree strongly preferred, with preference for advanced degree holders with a focus in strategy Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent project-related experience.
  • 15+ years of related work experience as an established strategic thinker anchored in data and analytics with business acumen and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects and outcomes.
  • Experiences in several managing large and complex products and programs over $5M+ in budget concurrently. Knowledge of drug development and commercialization.
  • Experiences in digital product ownership, including ownership roles such as roadmap, evangelism, development, and lifecycle.
  • Must have strong technical skills, ideally from a hands-on engineering / IT background and ability to leverage this experience to define and deliver projects in an agile environment leading to faster, better and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Must be willing to wear many hats and demonstrate cross-functional end-to-end leadership; from strategic thinking and project planning, to solution architecture, development and deployment to resource allocation.
  • Knowledgeable of cloud based architectures, cloud analytics products / solutions, and agile methodologies to enable rapid cycles of development and release of analytics and data products / solutions (eg: AWS, Azure, etc..)
  • Extensive technical and implementation knowledge of multitude of traditional BI and Visualization platforms not limiting to Tableau, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, MS-SSRS, and etc. and working knowledge of emerging holographic technology and other emerging data interaction capabilities.
  • Must show the ability to interact and influence all level of a large digital organization.
  • Exceptional verbal, written communication and organizational skills, along with interpersonal skills that allow for collaboration across a diverse group of people.
