We are currently searching for a Senior Associate Scientist to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC, and it is on-site in Gaithersburg, MD.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Apply and interpret basic scientific or engineering principles, theories, concepts, and protocols in a limited area or field.
  • Develop solutions to problems within job scope where precedents exist.
  • Provide solutions to a variety of problems of diverse scope involving basic scientific principles.
  • Develop new methods, technologies, and processes when necessary for project advancement.
  • Exercise significant technical discretion in design, execution and interpretation, and pursues new experiments as a result of experimental outcomes.
  • Conduct or participate in projects within a specific area or field using the following skills:
    • Binding assays (Octet, ELISA, MSD)
    • HCP/HCD assays
    • Endotoxin assays
    • Bio-separation skills (e.g. microfluidic and chromatography)
  • Make observations, analyze data, and interpret results.
  • Begin to prepare precise technical reports summaries, protocols, quantitative analyses, and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Present findings at internal meetings and/or contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and patent applications.

 

Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline with ten (10) years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with eight (8) years’ in a life science discipline, is required.
  • Must have experience in the following techniques:
    • Binding assays (Octet, ELISA, MSD)
    • HCP/HCD assays
    • Endotoxin assays
    • Bio-separation skills e.g., microfluid and chromatography
