Job Details

Summary: The Supply Chain MRP Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution of materials in support of FDBT GMP projects as per the S&OP asset plan via the site ERP/ SAP system. The Supply Chain MRP Specialist will have an extensive knowledge of the MRP system functions within SAP and be able to troubleshoot and teach colleagues the requirements for successful demand planning. The Supply Chain MRP Specialist will be required to have a thorough understanding of the FDBT staff and communicate effectively with each of these personnel to ensure on time delivery of all materials required for manufacturing. Communication and presentation of Mid and Long Term Planning status to various Site, Intercompany, Vendor and Client resources is required.

 

This role is required to be on-site in College Station, Texas.

Essential Functions:

  • Be considered the SME for Site MRP Planning and ensure the correct entries and maintained to allow proper execution of the MRP system.
  • Develop and implement process flow for MRP readiness and implement appropriate control functions to alert organization when deliverables are not on schedule.
  • Work effectively to gather any information for the set-up, creation and maintenance of material numbers and recording of required characteristics for those materials within Excel spreadsheets.
  • Communicate with management on delays and obstacles that may affect daily functions by way of material shortage and exception reports.
  • Effectively execute required entries into SAP and troubleshoot simple to moderate failure modes within SAP with regards to Material Masters and Material Recipes.
  • Delivery of defined metrics around material entries and executed Bill of Materials.
  • Forward plan material demands using planned orders supported by a Bill of Materials via the site ERP / SAP system in accordance with the production and asset plan.
  • Work effectively with other team members and system users on business system issues requiring SAP module integration.
  • Work in collaboration with the Purchasing Team to ensure material delivery dates are aligned with production demands.
  • Issue SAP process orders to the GMP warehouse to allow picking of materials and ensuring all materials are available on site and released by the Quality function.
  • Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures.
  • Work with users to identify, define, and implement business process improvements.
  • Apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the benefit of system investments.
  • Provide support, assistance, and training to users.
  • Work in a global SAP environment with coordination between sites.
  • Understand and articulate the production schedule for each of the manufacturing buildings and adjust forecast demand based on the Mid-Term Plan.
  • Troubleshoot any discrepancies with the SAP system with regards to the forecast.
  • Train colleagues on the MRP functions within SAP and be able to systematically explain the requirements for the SAP MRP functionality.
  • Ability to prepare forecast updates and presentations around the Long Term Forecast to Senior Leadership Team.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned and required.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with running and maintaining MRP tools in a production environment.
  • Utilize SAP MRP Planning tools with a full understanding of Independent and Dependant Planning Requirements.
  • Ability and experience with training colleagues for planning dependencies and how SAP produces the overall forecast based on these inputs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for discussing complex business processes.
  • Ability to coordinate, facilitate and organize resources.
  • Experience with Material Master and Recipe creation within an ERP system (preferably SAP)
  • Reporting status, issues and KPI's to Senir Leadership Team.
  • Ability to work effectively under extreme pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Well organized with ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Detail oriented and accurate.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Future- oriented, new technology knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and logical problem solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain business and technical documentation.
  • Positive, customer service oriented skills and behavior.
  • Ability to operate within a GMP Supply Chain function utilizing MRP process.

  • Experience prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
  • Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other equipment is required.
  • May be required to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Wear required PPE including but not limited to safety shoes and high visibility vest.
  • Attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with 3 years' work experience in SAP MRP systems and Demand Planning; OR
  • Bachelor's with 5 years' work experience in SAP MRP systems and Demand Planning; OR
  • Associate's degree with 8 years' work experience in SAP MRP systems and Demand Planning; OR
  • High School/GED with 10 years' work experience in SAP MRP systems and Demand Planning.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a Biotech/Pharmaceutical Environment.
  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration with IS, IT, or Computer Science coursework.
  • Experience with SAP and various data entry requirements.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing / Good Documentation Practices.
  • Six Sigma training.
