The Inventory Control Specialist will manage the maintenance warehouse to ensure accurate record of spare parts and materials. The individual in this role will also create purchase requisition, receive parts, and keep track of parts ordering to support maintenance processes.


Your Tasks


  • Supports all aspects of warehouse management for the Maintenance department
  • Keep accurate records and promptly enter inventory transactions in the ERP system (SAP)
  • Perform spare part cycle counts (at a minimum annually)
  • Plan, create, change, and complete purchase requests within SAP
  • Submit part changes, additions, and deletions
  • Communicate purchase plans with Maintenance staff
  • Communicate with finance
  • Receive and issue material from all stock locations with a high degree of accuracy
  • Orders and track parts for maintenance projects
  • Perform routine cycle count of inventory in the stock room
  • Gather parts for maintenance kits and prepare kits to be ready for PM
  • Generate monthly reports of inventory movement for management review
  • Investigate and correct inventory errors and notify supervisors of any discrepancies
  • Organize the stockroom and align inventory location with SAP
  • Coordinate with different vendors to obtain quotes for parts requisition
  • Use Excel to keep track of information such as maintenance PM kit, vendor contact, vendor vs. manufacturer part #, etc
  • Keep the maintenance warehouse & the spare part warehouse clean & organized at all times utilizing 5S methodology
  • Submit service requests to have damages repaired in your area of responsibility


Your Profile


  • Proficiency in SAP with minimum of two years’ experience
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in shipping and receiving
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Must maintain a high degree of data accuracy
  • Forklift certification ideal
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for emergency parts pickup
  • Position requires the ability to stand at the will-call window, sitting frequently at a desk, walking around office and plant, lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds, utilizing fine dexterity, reaching and kneeling on a daily basis
  • Experienced with 5S and lean six sigma
