Job Details

Company Description

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.

Position

As a Research Associate at Eikon, you will join an interdisciplinary team of highly creative and talented individuals. You will collaborate with scientists to establish and validate in vitro cell-based functional assays that will be critical in aiding our Single Particle Tracking (SPT) drug discovery platform and compound Structure-Activity Relationship (SAR) campaigns. Your work will contribute to the coordinated small molecule discovery efforts of multidisciplinary project teams consisting of biologists, chemists, computer scientists, and microscope engineers

About You

  • You’re a rigorous experimentalist who takes pride in your ability to execute at the bench
  • You pay attention to detail, have good documentation and organizational skills
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-tasking environment
  • You’re resourceful and able to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment; always open to diverse points of view
  • You adapt to novel and evolving methods and techniques

What You’ll Do

  • Aid in the development and validation of new cell-based assays to profile small molecule compounds identified through SPT screening campaigns
  • Execute cell-based assays to aid in hit triage, SAR, and hit-to-lead identification of small molecule compounds
  • Generate high-quality and reproducible data in support of project team goals
  • Routinely report experimental results to peers & cross-functional team members
  • Interact with other researchers and scientists to discuss ongoing project needs
  • Perform practical lab work, schedule day-to-day tasks, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results

Qualifications

  • For SRA II: Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, or related field with 9+ years industry experience (or Bachelor’s degree with 11+ years of industry experience)
  • For SRA I: Master’s degree with 6-8 years industry experience (or Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years of industry experience)
  • Hands-on experience in development, optimization and execution of cellular assays, applying multiple techniques including mammalian cell culture, ELISA, Luciferase assays, SDS-PAGE, Western and multiplexing technologies (e.g. MSD, Flow Cytometry)
  • Experience with liquid handlers & high-throughput automation is a plus
  • Experience with quantitative and/or statistical analysis using common software tools (GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Suite, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-driven and highly enthusiastic individual ready to tackle novel questions and be part of a fast-growing team

Eikon is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment.
In accordance with the Company’s duty to provide and maintain a safe workplace, the Company requires all employees to be Fully Vaccinated with one of the FDA approved COVID-19 vaccines, which includes those vaccines that have received the FDA’s emergency use authorization.  You will be expected to be Fully Vaccinated as of your Start Date. Company

Eikon is a pioneering drug discovery and development company that leverages superior engineering and high-performance computing to analyze single molecule protein behavior in living cells. We are engineering a battery of innovative tools and technologies for biological exploration in drug discovery and beyond.

Eikon thrives on the energy and creativity of interdisciplinary teams. We are physicists and chemists, biologists and engineers. We spend our days context-switching between multiple scientific languages. We work with lasers, super-resolution microscopes, and robot arms. We leverage machine learning, cell line engineering, and the collective intelligence of world-class scientists and technologists to observe therapeutically relevant biology in a way no one has before.

We’re endlessly curious, intellectually honest and we love what we do. We’re driven to learn the true mechanisms of biology and pharmacology at the molecular level, to make the biggest difference in as many lives as possible.
