General Scope and Summary
SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Associate Director, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) & Value Demonstration. The role involves integration of health economics analyses, outcomes research and real-world evidence generation to demonstrate the economic and humanistic value of zuranolone to support patient access. The candidate should have experience in pharmacoeconomic modeling as well as other HEOR practice areas.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the execution of strategic plans for demonstrating the economic and humanistic benefits of zuranolone. In the medium term, the candidate will lead the development of these strategic plans
Lead development of relevant economic models and design and execute studies to support models including meta-analyses, systematic reviews, utility measurement or other outcomes research as required
Advise and develop relevant sections of study concept documents, study protocols, statistical analysis plans, clinical study reports and other development documents.
Execute research using a variety of data sources and methodologies to summarize epidemiology, disease burden and unmet needs.
Engage across cross-functional partners and alliance stakeholders to represent HEOR perspectives, and ensure alignment of HEOR activities with the integrated brand plan and cross-alliance strategic plans.
Support development and dissemination of value communications materials including publications and field materials.
Present health outcomes research findings at scientific congresses and participate in the development and writing of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Conduct literature searches and systematic literature reviews
Identify, select, establish and manage a global network of contractors, consultants, and CROs to execute planned HEOR deliverables.
Develop and maintain a strong network of professional contacts
Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way.
Basic Qualifications
At least 5 years of HEOR experience in the pharmaceutical or related industries (e.g., consulting) with advance degree in health economics, pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline (MS, MPH, PharmD, PhD)
Excellent analytical skills, including in-depth knowledge of pharmacoeconomic modeling, claims database analysis methodologies, chart audits, and other health service research methodologies
Experience across a wide range of HEOR practice areas such as outcomes research study design and execution across multiple methodologies, PRO selection and validation, and value message development/communication
Experience designing HEOR tactics to support product value messages and address product strategy
Experience in identifying endpoints for observational research / RWE studies
Experience in managing multiple projects across a variety of HEOR methodologies and therapeutic areas
Ability to communicate technical scientific data to internal and external stakeholders
Strong team player that has a customer service approach, is solution oriented and demonstrated project management skills
Willingness to travel up to 10% of time
Preferred Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of the US healthcare system and a clear understanding of payer and healthcare decision-maker needs.
Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
