CDSI works to guide development of future computational infrastructure and workforce capabilities needed to address key cancer research challenges. This focus includes predicting treatment outcome, reducing bias, and shortening the time it takes for new treatments to be developed. The group’s efforts leverage some of the largest computers in the world using machine learning and artificial intelligence to create insights that can be applied at local cancer treatment centers, these insights improve quality of life and outcomes for all cancer patients.  Within CDSI, the Scientific Computing group fosters and enables NCI investigator teams to use scientific computing independently and helps to shape the organizational capacity to support scientific computing to enable NCI research.
