Process Development Senior Associate

Amgen Process Development (PD) organization is seeking an enthusiastic team-oriented Senior Associate to join the ATO Rapid Analytics (RA) group within Attribute Science (AS). The ATO RA organization focuses on providing high throughput analytical testing services to support pipeline delivery across a wide range of therapeutic biologics in both Pre-Pivotal and Pivotal phases. In the highly matrixed fast-paced team environment, under limited supervision, the primary responsibility of this Sr. Associate role is to perform product quality analysis and provide analytical data by adhering to projects timelines to enable process decisions. The candidate will be an integral member of a dynamic team, collaborating with research scientists at multiple Amgen sites, and working closely with groups in other functional areas.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Execute analytical testing within expected turnaround time per established procedure for following assays: Reduced Capillary Electrophoresis (rCE-SDS), Non-Reduced Capillary Electrophoresis (nrCE-SDS), cIEF (Capillary Ion Electrophoresis Focusing), ATOLL, etc.
Adhere to ATO RA turnaround time for high throughput samples and all required metrics
Ability to work and adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Document, review results, and maintain electronic laboratory notebooks
Work with development team to implement methods in ATO RA, analyze and interpret data
Provide hands-on training to junior analysts and provide technical input and generate written reports as needed
Communicate project updates as appropriate
Solve technical problems with both instrument and assay issues as part of troubleshooting
Participate and present scientific data in meetings
Maintain instruments and follow labs general equipment cleaning protocols

B.S./M.S. in Biochemistry or related field
Knowledge of chromatography including HPLC, UPLC, and CE
Good understanding of Liquid Chromatography and Capillary Electrophoresis and strong hands on technical skills to address challenging technical issues
Strong ability to analyze and interpret analytical results
Excellent organization and communication (oral and written) skills and attention to details
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead and give instructions as needed
Ability to learn new technology quickly, multi-task and adapt in a dynamic environment
Possess a positive attitude and strong selfmotivation
Able to lead technical team and collaborate with clients to resolve technical and logistical issues
Step up as a lead to the team when needed
