The Role:

Moderna is seeking an agile and motivated Research Associate to join the Clinical Immuno-Assay group to serve as analyst for the virus neutralization assay development, qualification/ validation, and sample analysis to support programs across multiple therapeutic areas.

The candidate will need to perform analytical work and maintain clinical testing continuity. The ability to effectively communicate within a project team is expected. Preferably, the candidate has some prior experience in running assay validation and conducting data acquisition on clinical specimen. The candidate should be a collaborative team member and an excellent communicator to support Modernas portfolio needs.

The individual will work closely with project team members to develop analytical methods and characterization tools in support of our clinical phase studies. The position will report to the group lead of Virus Neutralization Assay.

Here's What Youll Do:

  • Under the guidance of project lead, be responsible for the quality and integrity of assigned bioanalytical projects in support of clinical trials at Moderna

    • Conduct assay development, qualification/validation and sample analysis for cell-based assay

    • Deliver high quality data within defined timelines

    • May author bioanalytical reports

    • Identify and resolve quality issues and report issues to project lead

  • Assume assigned general laboratory responsibilities, e.g. safety coordinator, instrument/process/technology owner etc

  • Always ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines. Maintain training records

  • Attending technical conferences and exhibits as required

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor or MSc in vaccine, virology, or related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply

  • Demonstrated level of independence and work ethics

  • Flexibility with changing priorities and urgent project requests

  • An effective communicator and collaborator in a project team

  • Good written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Good computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad Prism

  • Hands-on experience with cell culture in aseptic conditions

  • Preferably experienced with immunoassay techniques

  • Preferably knowledgeable in system software for data analysis, e.g. Softmax pro , Gen 5 or basic laboratory statistics
