The Role

Located in Cambridge - MA, this position will support the Financial Planning and Analysis team as we support a growing organization and development pipeline. This position will partner with both the accounting operations team, Human Resources, and Finance team members as well as various business partners on month-end close activities, internal management reporting, planning, and ad-hoc analysis. The incumbent will initially rotate through several Finance functions including Functional FP&A (e.g. Commercial, G&A, R&D, International), and Corporate (e.g. Corporate FP&A, Tax and Treasury, Accounting). Each assignment will take several months, which will allow the incumbent to explore the day-to-day of various Finance departments, before concentrating in one of the areas.

Heres What Youll Do

Financial Planning/Decision Analysis:

  • Assist the FP&A in supporting both Corporate and Functional Finance functions, for both operating expenses and capital

    • Support and manage financial planning deliverables, such as forecasting, actuals reporting, variance analysis, and long-range planning, for both headcount and external spend

    • Enable business partnering to drive cross-functional transparency and efficiency

    • Month-end close support including month-end close accruals, troubleshooting or following-up with accounting and the business

  • Support data validation and perform ad-hoc reconciliations

  • Manage headcount and external spend to optimize business organization structure to drive value creation

  • Ad-hoc analyses that support business decision making, and process / system improvement initiatives

  • BA/BS in Business administration, economics, accounting or finance

  • Masters degree in Finance/Accounting or Master of Public Health preferred

  • Internship or Full-time experience in life science, Finance or both preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; willingness to roll-up the sleeves

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large sets of data

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; proficient in Excel based modeling

  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
