Job Details

The VI Next team develops develop complex humanized mouse models with the goal of understanding basic biology, modeling human diseases, and selecting for alternative antibody-based drug formats. We are seeking an experienced R&D associate on a temporary basis with a strong background in Immunology or cell biology to work on phenotyping different mouse models and supporting the discovery and development of antibody-based therapeutics.  

As a temp R&D associate, a typical day might include:

  • Developing and optimizing protocols/methods independently and collaboratively, execute experiments independently based on protocols to characterize different mouse models using flow cytometry, histology, ELISA and Western Blot and support projects within the team.

  • Maintaining different cell lines; isolate and culture primary cells from mouse or human tissues; perform cell-based assays to functionally test different therapeutic candidates. 

  • Troubleshooting experimental or instrumental issues and grow to design and develop projects independently.

  • Documenting complete experiments accurately; analyze data and interpret results timely; clearly communicate results in written or verbally with supervisor, collaborators, and department colleagues.

  • Contributing to samples/reagents management and help create a safe, effective, and efficient working environment.

  • You have strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 2+ years of relevant experience or MS with 1+ year of relevant experience in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or relevant program. Technical proficiency in multi-parameter flow cytometry and other immune assays (ELISA/MSD, Immunofluorescence) and mammalian cell culture are essential. Experience with mouse handling and in vivo studies is a major plus. Candidates with ability and desire to design experiments, problem-solve, and troubleshoot issues independently are encouraged to apply. In this role, the candidate will be trained by a group of scientists and have opportunists to participate in various projects and grow themselves professionally. Competent candidate could be hired for extended time after initial contract finished.
