DIRECTOR, PRICING AND CONTRACTING

POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
The Director, Pricing and Contracting is responsible for assessment and implementation of the US pricing and contracting (P&C) strategies for Day One’s launch of its first commercialized product in pLGG (pediatric low grade glioma), a rare progressive brain tumor in children. This person will report to the Senior Director Payer and Pricing Strategy, and will collaborate with multiple functional groups, including but not limited to Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Regulatory, Commercial Analytics, Patient Advocacy, and Medical Affairs. 
 
This position has the potential to be fully remote. Travel may be required for in-person meetings.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Build Day One Bio’s pricing & contracting infrastructure and expertise in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors
·       Lead cross-functional collaboration and implementation of pricing and contracting strategies for first-to-market product launch in pediatric brain tumors and in support of continued portfolio product development
o   Conduct business analysis of pricing and contracting strategies including developing models to set pricing strategy and assessing implications of pricing and contracting scenarios on gross to net (GTN)
o   Develop pricing modeling and recommendations for review and approval by Pricing Committee
o   Manage pricing committee to evaluate and facilitate approval of pricing actions and potential contracting opportunities; educate on process internally
o   Develop and refine GTN model and assumptions to support forecasting of near and long-term range discount rates; Provide pricing and GTN input into payer strategy and tactic development
o   Monitor, evaluate and educate internally on implications of government (state and federal) pricing legislation and policies
o   Lead cross-functional implementation of pricing and contracting activities
·       Responsible for pricing reporting, collaborate with Compliance, Finance, etc. to ensure the data reporting integrity
o   Onboard Government Pricing vendor; develop internal SOPs for monitoring
o   Oversee government (federal and state) pricing vendor
o   Review internal data/reports to ensure compliance with government pricing programs
o   Partner with finance; manage an external vendor on contract and invoice management
QUALIFICATIONS
 
·       A desire to be part of a highly innovative company aimed at transforming the lives of children
·       B.S./B.A. degree or higher, with 8+ years of experience in pricing and contracting in biotech, pharma or relevant industry experience 
·       Experience working in Oncology or rare disease in biotech or pharma and experience working in or with managed care plans is preferred 
·       Experience in managing external pricing and contracting management vendors strongly preferred  
·       Working knowledge of current US pricing environment and dynamics
·       Experience developing pricing and contracting infrastructure, contract management practices, pricing committees, vendor government price reporting and contract ROI preferred
·       Evidence of strong analytical skills, project planning and organizational skills required 
·       Ability to proactively analyze business problems, identify key issues, develop solutions, implement tactical programs, and design metrics to measure business impact 
·       Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to drive influence across stakeholders to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure outstanding execution 
·       Outstanding project management skills and experience managing multiple vendors
·       Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in pricing 
·       Self-starter, detail-oriented, organized; Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency
·       Ability to travel up to 30% of the time if located remotely
