Fate Therapeutics is seeking a Manufacturing Associate I to join our Manufacturing Team. The Manufacturing Associate I will perform well regulated GMP aseptic cell culture activities including media preparation, cell thaws, cell expansion, cell differentiation, and cell harvests using standard, well understood cell culture technologies in a cleanroom environment. Will also perform verifier and runner activities during the process. Will be responsible for the accurate and timely documentation of work performed. The Manufacturing Associate I will primarily work in a cleanroom environment wearing applicable cleanroom gowning. This is a full-time non- exempt position reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisors/Managers and will be located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA or Torrey Pines Location.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the execution of cell culture manufacturing activities of iPSC based Drug Product from thaw of MCB’s through harvested cryopreservation and quarantine of Drug Product
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of manufacturing activities
  • Responsible for documenting deviations and reporting such deviations to department management
  • Assure manufacturing facility is maintained in a clean and organized state
  • Maintain cGMP training requirements

Qualifications
  • A High School diploma is required. An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow manufacturing related documents including batch records, SOP’s, and forms.
  • Ability to collect and document a variety of data from various instruments after appropriate training.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, able to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with standard cell culture methods is preferred but Fate will train an acceptable candidate.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • On-site work at cGMP manufacturing facilities in San Diego, CA with little/no ability to work remotely.
  • Travel between manufacturing sites is occasionally required.
  • Will require working with cells and cell lines.
  • Will require working with hazardous materials.
  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning; Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body.
  • Regular off hours and weekend work as needed.
