Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) harnesses the power of data to drive robust analytical insights that inform some of Pfizer's most critical business questions. The person in this role will have responsibilities across multiple business units to develop a) patient and revenue epi- and complex-forecasting tools/models, training, and forecasting guidance to the commercial business units in support of launch and inline products, b) serve as a center of excellence, providing expert epi-forecasting consultation to BAI leaders, teams and the business, and c) develop and execute the evolution of innovative forecasting capabilities, platforms and process simplification.

This role will manage team members covering the above responsibilities for the businesses, Primary Care (Antiviral, mRNA, Vaccines, Internal Medicine), Specialty Care (Immunology & Inflammation, Rare Disease, Hospital), International Developed Markets (IDM), Emerging Markets (EM) and China.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting a vision for launch and inline forecasting and partnering with BAI leaders and team members on the execution of product forecasts. This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of brand and therapeutic strategies that are critical to the business. The successful candidate will join team members worldwide who are supporting business transformation through their proactive thought leadership, innovative analytical capabilities, and their ability to communicate highly complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways.

Role definition and key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Team Leadership

  • Set a vision and provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of individual contributors
  • Build epi-/complex-forecasting and consultative talent and capabilities within the team and contribute to the broader talent building framework across BAI
  • Take full accountability for launch and inline forecasting capabilities and execution in collaboration with BAI brand teams and multiple businesses
  • Achieve team budget targets

Epi- and Complex forecasting Excellence

  • Lead development and implementation of innovative forecasting approaches, prioritization framework and enablement for BAI colleagues partnering with the business on forecasting scenario development
  • Actively manage and oversee external vendors supporting forecast model/tool development
  • Act as strategic partner to frame and translate complex patient flows into simplified model approaches used by BAI and commercial market colleagues
  • Develop and implement strategic vision for how to simplify and standardize the execution of epi/complex forecasting at Pfizer, including forecasting platforms, vendor partners, operating model and other processes

Collaboration within BAI and Pipeline Forecasting Team

  • Partner to plan and transition forecasting from top-down pipeline decision forecasting models to bottoms-up launch and inline forecasting models
  • Partner with BAI brand team members to enable colleagues with forecasting tools/models
  • Actively contribute to advancement of BAI forecasting capabilities through training, thoughtful tool development and partnership
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

REQUIRED BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in quantitative discipline
  • 14 years of work experience, 12 years work experience with advanced degree
  • 10+ years of work experience in a business analytics function, country strategy and/or strategic consulting
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in understanding brand content, strategy, and tactics
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Analytics) to execute brand forecasting
  • Experience building a team preferred, and leading and achieving results through matrixed organizations; ability to maintain strong cross-functional and cross-team ties to influence colleagues outside direct reporting structure
  • Senior Stakeholder management experience required
  • In depth experience using epi-/complex-forecasting models to forecasting patient demand and revenue

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MA, MS, MBA or equivalent advanced degree in business or healthcare, business administration, statistics or another relevant field
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, management consulting, commercial or operations role

Highly Collaborative: Manages projects with and through others; shares responsibility and credit; develops self and others through teamwork; comfortable providing guidance and sharing expertise with others to help them develop their skills and perform at their best; helps others take appropriate risks; communicates frequently with team members earning respect and trust of the team

Strong Project Manager: Clearly articulates scope and deliverables of projects; breaks complex initiatives into detailed component parts and sequences actions appropriately; develops action plans and monitors progress independently; designs success criteria and uses them to track outcomes; drives implementation of recommendations when appropriate, engages with stakeholders throughout to ensure buy-in
