Job Description
The Associate Director / Director will help drive commercial strategy and operations projects across the Neuroscience and Eye Care business, that includes Psychiatry, Migraine, Parkinson’s Disease, BOTOX Therapeutics and Eye Care. Specific activities will include:
- Commercial Excellence
- Lead key commercial strategic initiatives that capture additional value in short term (12-24 months) across franchises
- Support key strategic initiatives across organization that identifies longer-term growth (e.g., Strategy LRP, BD strategy, Roadmap and Brand planning)
- Operational Effectiveness
- Executing opportunities to drive operational effectiveness within and across business units with key cross-functional partners, e.g., Finance and HR
- Facilitate effective and collaborative cross-functional engagements to optimize AbbVie capabilities, e.g., with Integrated Brand Teams, Customer Experience, Medical, Compliance HEOR, Business Technology Solutions, etc.
- Support communication of business and operational reviews to senior Commercial and Executive leadership
The Associate Director will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and develop strategic and operational opportunities. Hence, this position will foster positive working relationships and be highly collaborative with each franchise brand teams, Finance, Medical, R&D, Market Access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Market Analytics and Business Insights (MABI), Sales Training, Sales Force Effectiveness, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and other cross franchise teams to gain input into developing strategic and operational projects. The Associate Director must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority, while building a collaborative, integrated approach across the organization
This position reports to the Director, US Commercial Strategy, Operations and Planning (Neuroscience and Eye Care) and will support data analytical execution, creating strong narratives on insights and communication with key stakeholders and executive leadership
Job Qualifications
Education and experience:
- BA/BS required, MBA or advanced degree (PhD, MD) preferred
- At least 7 years of professional industry experience with a successful track record in management consulting (at least 2+ years), pipeline management, or pharmaceutical marketing with strong analytical and strategic marketing skills.
- Previous experience in pharma R&D, Corporate Strategy, Brand Management, and/or Marketing
- Deep understanding and experience with Neuroscience and Eye Care products both inline and in development.
- Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills across a variety of organization levels and disciplines, including senior executives

- Executes highly effective working team meetings with internal and external partners and is visibly inclusive and transparent.
- Excellent command of MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
- Experience working with pre-launch, launch, &/or on-market commercial teams, preferred.
