POSITION SUMMARYThe Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for the timely management of all tax correspondents and deliverables of federal, multi-state and local agency notices, as well as researching tax laws and regulations and implementing the appropriate process and treatment. Responsibilities also include performing regular reconciliation and audit activities in payroll, treasury, travel, expense, and risk in addition to preparing materials for external or internal auditors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for the coordination of all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and filings.
  • Perform analyses for payroll related liabilities and year end reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local rules and regulations affecting payroll practices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of quarterly and annual payroll taxes for federal, states and various local agencies tax jurisdictions.
  • Initiate tax applications and manage all withholding and unemployment tax account numbers across multiple state and local tax authorities for all companies.
  • Responsible for tax related processes, including but not limited to, quarter and annual amendment processing, tax filing notices, and respective reconciliations related to local, state, and federal tax levels.
  • Respond to questions and special requests from regulatory agencies, in researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.
  • Compile payroll and tax reports for both internal and external purpose.
  • Provide audit support for internal and external audits.
  • Research and resolve payroll tax notices for multi-state tax entities.
  • Provide assistance to business units on payroll tax related inquiries.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of new and/or existing desk procedures, related to all payroll operations, utilizing knowledge of internal systems as well as local, state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Audit of system output such as payroll registers and standard reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy of payroll processes while complying with payroll and tax laws and audit requirements.
  • Perform regular and periodic internal audits of various payroll, treasury, expense and risk areas.
  • Assist in administration of bank account records and perform reviews of monthly account analysis fees.
  • Maintain log of certificate of insurance requirements. Reconcile all premium related to all insurance policies. Manage claims for insured losses.
  • Implement best practices and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Serve as full back up for the Payroll Administrator position.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as required and assigned by management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree or degree-in-process in business or related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years payroll, tax and/or accounting experience required
  • Experience working in a publicly-traded, high growth company
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley requirements as it relates to payroll and benefits processes and related internal controls
  • Knowledge of Workday and Workday Reporting and Concur
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Expert computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word.
  • Functional knowledge of the workings of complex tax reporting
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies
  • Detail oriented, able to complete assignments on time, flexible in changing environment with strong organization skills
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize and handle several projects simultaneously
  • Effective verbal & written communication
