StageBio is seeking a full-time, Histology Trainer to join our growing team. This role requires 30%-50% travel to other StageBio sites. The ideal candidate will live near one of our facilities.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain laboratory training materials for new and existing StageBio employees, including recommendation of the most effective training delivery approach

  • Assist with onboarding and initial training of new lab employees across all StageBio sites

  • Maintain proficiency in laboratory technical areas such as trimming, dehydration, embedding, microtomy, and staining

  • Understanding of quality control throughout the histology process

  • Familiarity with a variety of laboratory instruments, equipment, and software platforms

  • Ensure consistency and relevancy of training materials and training methods across all StageBio sites

  • Coordinate with lab management and subject-matter experts to deliver histology training on specialized processes in their business lines

  • Develop methods of identifying and measuring lab technician competency levels

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training on an ongoing basis with metrics and reporting

  • Operate laboratory equipment as necessary to support the histology training process

  • Coordinate laboratory continuing education programs

  • Understand and conduct all training processes in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience teaching or training in a lab environment preferred

  • HT or HTL (ASCP) certification or equivalent experience preferred

  • AA or Bachelor’s degree in science related field preferred, or equivalent experience in a histology/pathology laboratory

  • Ability to teach multiple tasks within the field of histology

  • Ability and willingness to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Capable of understanding FDA regulations, Good Laboratory Practices, and StageBio’s SOPs

  • Be very detail-oriented with both routine lab tasks and paperwork

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
