The Employee Experience (EE) - provides the full range of infrastructure services to Gilead's business users globally. This team aims to provide services that are reliable, accessible, feature-rich, and easy to use for all users. From the business standpoint, we aim to build a highly effective team that provides services that are cost-effective, proactively managed, and financially responsible and transparent to our stakeholders.

The EE Portfolio Director is a key leadership role is responsible for strategic, sustainment and operational demand deliveries following the established protocols. In addition, ensure demand priorities and decisions are consistent and align to Corporate and/or IT Strategic plans leveraging ServiceNow ITMB Demand and Capacity Planning tool.

Responsibilities of Employee Experience Portfolio Director include:
  • Manages and provides communications on all demands to provide overview of delivery throughput and capacity for internal and external consumption
  • Provides oversight and management of project and/or program managers to deliver assignments within established protocols (e.g., guidance and support demand implementations, shares knowledge, best practices, etc.)
  • Onboards and develops project and/or program managers to be an effective member of the delivery team and be the point of escalation to resolve conflicts, issues and risks
  • Captures all demands and leads collaboration meetings with Leadership to assess effort, resources requirements and cost
  • Transforms and leads the delivery transformation through agile methodologies, such as, Six Sigma, SAFe, etc.
  • Leads the delivery team in the execution of deliverables by working closely with cross functional and technology organizations
  • Addresses transformation challenges by helping team members navigate the organization effectively
  • Provides continuous improvement and simplify procedures, leveraging technology tools and developing talent through training and coaching team members (e.g. development goals, etc.)
  • Establishes and refines dashboard to track deliverable progresses (e.g. metrics - schedule, financial performance, including RIO/value realization)
  • Fosters excellent, transparent, agnostic, executive-level communications
  • Creates and maintains organization structure, ensuring it operates efficiently and aligns with the needs of the business and the overall structure and mission of the organization
  • Coordinates efforts and provides data with IT leadership across capabilities for global portfolio management, including demand management, prioritization/selection, financials, resources, and execution
  • Orchestrates work within and across divisional capabilities
  • Supports demand prioritization, allocating and reallocating funds at enterprise level within divisional capability
  • Identifies interdependencies and opportunities to leverage across divisional capabilities
  • Mitigates dependency-related risks within and across divisional capabilities which includes managing business partner expectations
  • Manages and achieves financial objectives across divisional capabilities
  • Directs, develops, and presents to management various analyses (organizational, systems, feasibility, cost/benefit studies, implementation plans, financials)
  • Guides and attends strategic portfolio reviews, portfolio sync, portfolio budgeting reviews
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to align each portfolio to enterprise strategy, maintains a portfolio vision / future state, establishes portfolio roadmap, budgets and guardrails, realizes business value through execution, and manages the portfolio capacity and lifecycle
  • Fosters operational excellence, establishing objective milestones, performance and financial governance, metrics and indicators


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree and Twelve Years Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years Experience OR Master's Degree and Eight Years Experience OR PhD and Two Years Experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with organizational transformation and process re-engineering
  • 9 years of Project Management experience
  • People management of staff, managed service resources and consultants
  • Proven records in managing and delivering large, complex, cross-functional projects or portfolios
  • Experience with management of globally dispersed project management delivery team to deliver in an ambiguous environment
  • Innovative thinker bearing a Growth Mindset
  • Experience in using online demand and capacity planning tool
  • Expertise in project and program management methodologies, tools and techniques
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experiences of Software Lifecycle Methodology and Agile Methodology
  • Solid experiences with stakeholder management and vendor management
  • Ability to work with dispersed and global teams to achieve significant initiatives
  • Comfortable with engaging and managing multiple stakeholders at various levels to achieve project objectives, without formal authority
  • Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in program management
  • Strong leadership and management skills with ability to make critical decisions
  • Excellent financial management experience
  • Proven experience with management of IT portfolio, program, and project managers
  • Excellent in risk management, conflict management, and escalation management
  • Specific experience in the Life Science/Pharma/Medical Devices/Healthcare Industries
  • PMP certification or Agile certification or equivalent practical experiences
  • ServiceNow ITBM (Information Technology Business Management)
  • Solid background in building roadmaps, create and execute on a strategic vision
  • Hands-on experience with Information Technology project and/or program delivery
