Role Summary

Global Product Development (GPD) is responsible for the clinical development and advancement of Pfizer’s pipeline of innovative medicines and vaccines, as well as regulatory affairs in support of Pfizer’s R&D pipeline and portfolio of marketed therapies. GPD is a global organization with more than 7,000 colleagues in approximately 80 countries.

The Manager, PX, Colleague Communications & Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing effective communications strategies, tactics and tools that drive business results in support of GPD. The Manager will report to the Director of Colleague Communications & Engagement and support in implementing coordinated colleague engagement and communication activities. They will be responsible for building and executing comprehensive and innovative communications plans that create engagement among GPD colleagues, to shape its culture and enhance its ability to meet and exceed its business goals. This will include technical ownership for GPD communication channels and planning for all GPD communications and engagement activities.

Efforts include executive support; change management; cultural, recognition and branding initiatives; program delivery; event management; communications development and production; and editorial management.

The role encompasses:

  • Supporting GPD’s communications execution

  • Supporting the planning of all GPD’s communications

  • Supporting the measurement and effectiveness of GPD communications

The Manager’s primary goal is to support the GPD Communications & Engagement team in delivering simple, effective communications and engagement that is aligned with business priorities, key strategies and initiatives across GPD.

Role Responsibilities

Work closely with Director and GPD Chief of Operations to implement engagement and communications that advance business priorities including:

  • Support the management of the colleague communications and engagement plan for GPD.

  • Produce/write and edit GPD communications content for GPD channels including town halls, videos, and intranet sites.

  • Support the GPD colleague communications and engagement team in the measurement of activities and their engagement effectiveness


Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field preferred

  • Health communications preferred; prefer pharmaceutical or other corporate and public affairs experience


Capability Requirements:

  • 5+ years of internal or external experience in a corporate environment or highly regulated industry

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering communications strategies and plans and managing evolution and change in a complex global organization

  • Strong, versatile writer and editor

  • Ability to think creatively and present ideas that will engage and motivate colleagues

  • Experience managing internal engagement platforms (intranet and Yammer, or similar)

  • Must be a strong manager and analytical thinker:

    • Confident, direct counselor with strong listening and verbal communications skills

    • Ability to collaborate and lead by influence

    • Effective problem solver

  • Highly organized with the ability to navigate a large, global organization and create an effective network of colleagues across levels

  • Energetic self-starter; self-directed, with impeccable attention to detail; dedicated to excellence

  • Quick thinker and ability to navigate ambiguity

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint and SharePoint
