Given the Company’s deep commitment to employee engagement and internal communication, the AbbVie U.S. Immunology organization is seeking a Manager of Strategic Internal Communications reporting to the Director of U.S. Immunology Strategic Communications. Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Write internal communications, including briefs for live employee panel discussions, video scripts, emails, podcasts, digital content, and FAQs. Also write briefs and manage vendors to develop these communications materials, as appropriate. Collaborate with a cross-functional team to source, validate, and summarize key topics and messages for these communications.
  • Provide support for internal communications relating to national in-person and hybrid key employee meetings, town halls, webinars, videos, and written communications, as needed.
  • Develop and execute U.S. Immunology culture communications, including collaborating with teams in U.S. Immunology to highlight and feature their team culture initiatives, including AbbVie’s commitment to Equity, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EEDI). Additionally, develop U.S. Immunology communications around AbbVie’s enterprise initiatives for employee awards and recognition programs.
  • Work with internal teams and vendor to manage content, updates, and enhancements for the U.S. Immunology intranet (portal). Enhancements would stem from employee feedback and the digital plan for U.S. Immunology internal communications.
  • Manage and execute the content plan for updating U.S. Immunology internal content across additional channels, including office signage and other digital and traditional channels.
  • Manage and execute the engagement metrics reports and employee feedback forums for internal communications, including analysis and recommendations with vendor support. Demonstrated ability to remain open to new ideas and input from key employee audiences.
  • Lead executive internal communication strategic and tactical plan for the U.S. Immunology Account Executive team and the U.S. Immunology Consumer Marketing team.
  • Manage review process for internal communications materials. Keep various parties apprised of status, timelines, and directional shifts to ensure smooth review process and to meet corporate deadlines.

Key Qualifications and Experiences:

  • 7-10 years of experience with at least 5 years in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry, or equivalent regulated industry, in a high-level communications or marketing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (emphasis in communications, marketing, business, public relations, or journalism preferred).
  • Possess a thorough understanding of leading/emerging internal communications trends and techniques to maximize program impact.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior management and all levels of a matrixed corporate team.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teammates including commercial field teams, headquarters teammates including Marketing, Public Affairs, HR, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Sales Training.
  • Strong executive presence, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills that emphasize teamwork, engagement, and diplomacy with all teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence a complex set of internal stakeholders.
  • Manage agency resources and other vendors to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Develop and execute communications strategies and tactics that have specific timelines, budgets, stakeholder responsibilities and contingency plans.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of corporate businesses and/or therapeutic areas, industry, and competitive landscape to provide effective recommendations.
  • Operate quickly and decisively in a fast-paced, demanding, and dynamic environment.
