Role Description:

We are seeking a Psychometrician to join the Forge Biologics team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high growth manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have experience in administering and interpreting neurodevelopmental scales in the areas of cognition, speech and language as well as adaptive behavior in a pediatric population. Additional skills in feeding assessments and hearing loss impact on language are desirable. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with multi-disciplinary teams. The candidate must uphold the highest level of confidentiality while fostering trust, respect, cooperation, and collaboration across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Review videotape assessments and ratings across studies and subjects to ensure efficacy and consistency and to prevent rater drift
  • Articulate rating issues to Site Administrator(s), Director, Principal or Sub-Investigator, CRO and/or Sponsor, and other study team members. Provide written feedback to decrease variability and improve accuracy of assessments
  • Development of training modules for site teams in the administration of neurodevelopmental measures and understanding how disease signs and symptoms can affect testing and best practices to address these challenges; participate in clinical trial sites study start-up and continued education and support of site raters
  • Communicate with the teams on issues impacting neurodevelopmental tool analysis and outcomes
  • Interface with cross-functional teams (e.g. Medical Monitor, Regulatory Affairs, CRO, vendors, physical therapist, and Investigators/site staff)
  • Maintain paper and electronic filing and tracking systems

Requirements:

  • Masters’ degree in Speech and Communication or Psychology required
  • At least 8 years of experience as a clinical therapist and preferably 2 years of experience working with a team in clinical trials
  • Knowledge, familiarity, and experience performing a variety of scales, including the Mullen Scales of Early Learning (2nd Edition), Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development (3rd Edition), Differential Ability Scales (2nd Edition), and the Beery-Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration (6th Edition), Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scale, PANDI feeding assessment, familiarity with hearing assessments including auditory brain stem responses, otoacoustic emissions, acoustic reflexes and behavioral audiometry
  • Specific experience administering and interpreting scales for subjects enrolled in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and gene therapy clinical trials
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in small teams and with a wide range of varying stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc)
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organizational priorities and ambiguous environments
