We are currently searching for a Scientist to provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the Cellular Molecular Therapeutics Branch (CMTB) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. This opportunity is full-time, and it is on site in Bethesda, MD.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform experiments in the laboratory using methods that include, but are not limited to, cell cultures, qRT-PCR, western blotting, reporter assays, HPLC, Flow cytometry, Cut and tag, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, EMSA, HI-C, 3-C and chemical screens.
  • Preparation, analysis, and purification of proteins, peptides, and antibody conjugates.
  • Production of bioconjugate compositions at desired scales and purities.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, including required documentation.
  • Maintain records of all performed experiments; maintain and update laboratory notebooks and databases; collect data; perform data analysis and interpretation; prepare reports and summaries, write manuscripts.
  • Manage multiple projects at once.
  • Work products and documents related to performing instrument quality control to ensure proper function; maintain laboratory equipment; maintain inventory of lab supplies, including required documentation.
  • Work products and documents related to maintaining records of all performed experiments; maintain and update laboratory notebooks and databases; collect, analyze and interpret data; prepare reports and summaries.

 

Requirements
  • Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing experiments in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline,
  • Proficiency in the operation of computer and general data acquisition programs.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
