The Total Rewards team is seeking a Benefits Analyst who specializes in Leave of Absence to join this growing team. This Analyst role is essential to our business continuity, leading and administering processes, policies, and procedures that are vital to our employees’ health and wellbeing along with ensuring workforce continuity. This role is responsible for FMLA, ADA, Leaves of Absence, and Pandemic response. The systems, processes, and data this position handles are crucial to support business decisions for current and future state.

As the benefits analyst, a typical day might include the following:

  • Acting as owner of all STD/ FMLA, STD/Non-FMLA, Parental Leave, State Leaves, Workers Compensation, Military and Personal leaves of absence; establishes rapport, guides, communicates and supports the employee through the leave process.
  • Proactively partnering with our HR service center “HR4U” and ensuring all Regeneron systems accurately reflect the leave of absence. Ensuring quality and service delivery including accurate system updates, coordination with applicable parties for timely payments, etc.
  • Delivering timely and accurate information and responses to vendors, employees, HR and management on all Regeneron benefit programs, as they relate to Short Term Disability, Family Medical Leave, STD, Workman’s Compensation, Americans with Disability Act (ADA) and leave status.
  • Developing knowledge of Regeneron’s policies on all Leave of Absence types, STD and Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Uniform Services Employee Reinstatement Rights Act (USERRA).
  • Following current industry practices, developments, and government regulations pertaining to FMLA, USERRA and other legal issues related to employee leave provisions.
  • Owning relationship with Legal and Policy team on all leave policies and advanced cases.
  • Supporting the Benefits team budget, data analytics and system integrations.
  • Serving as back up for other Benefits Analysts in all areas of Benefits and Wellbeing.
  • Support government filings, plan audits, or other tax-reporting requirements.

  • You have a passion for continuous improvement, taking ownership of, and carrying out projects. 


To be considered for this position you must have at least 5+ years of experience in a progressive, metrics driven corporate HR environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. The candidate will possess a solid understanding of employee benefits as they relate to leaves of absence, including short/long term disability, COBRA, state disability, ADA, FMLA, etc. Analytical and communications skills with exposure across HR and/or Payroll, specifically employee benefits. Must be proficient with and have advanced skills using Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Experience using Oracle HR (or similar) HR systems and Payroll is highly desired. Experience in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
