Associate Scientist-Bioinformatics (Tarrytown, NY)

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist-Bioinformatics (Tarrytown, NY) to develop and maintain bioinformatics applications and analytics pipelines running on the Amazon Web Services cloud and on-premise computing platforms. Develop and maintain bioinformatics pipelines ranging from next-generation sequencing analysis to lead antibody selection to oligonucleotide design.  Work with researchers to understand their needs and support feature requests. Work with other bioinformaticians to enhance existing pipelines, share methodologies, and develop best practices. Effectively communicate methodologies to a variety of technical audiences.

Job Requirements:

Requires a PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Zoology, or a related field. Must have knowledge or skills in: Conducting bioinformatics analysis and/or building pipelines (e.g. next-generation sequencing analysis, querying bioinformatics database APIs); Different types of sequencing platforms (e.g. Illumina WGS, PacBio); Predictive modeling (e.g. GLMM, feature selection); R, Python, Perl, Ruby; Linux environment and shell scripting; Code version control systems such as git, subversion, CVS; Code debugging, profiling and optimization techniques; and Presenting complex scientific topics to an audience outside that scientific field. Knowledge and skills may be gained as part of a degree program.
