Lets do this. Lets change the world. During this program, you will have the opportunity to work within the Facilities & Engineering Department at the Amgen Rhode Island (ARI) Operations Facility. Coaching, mentorship, and guidance will be provided to you as you engage in the following activities:
Assist in troubleshooting and repair of process equipment and systems
Assist in general fabrication and welding activities
Ensure activities are accomplished in a safe manner and with quality
Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and cGMPs
Ensure work is appropriately communicated to supervisors, system operators and key stakeholders
Ensure work order documentation is completed accurately and completely
Identify waste, work flow interrupters, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation
Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall team performance

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelors Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
Enrolled in a full-time Bachelors degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the co-op
Pursuing a degree in (or recent graduate of program in) mechanical, mechanical engineering/technology, welding or equivalent field
Basic machining, welding and fabrication skills
Ability to understand drawings, P&IDs and equipment schematics and wiring diagrams
Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving skills
Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
