What You Will Achieve

Working with Pfizer’s dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in managing the maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment.

You will be a team member who is relied to have a good understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment. Your decision making will help you prioritize workflows based on the available resources. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing. How You Will Achieve It
  • Participate in multi-craft work activities as required.
  • Assist with plant audits and be involved in safety committee to conduct safety inspection and audits.
  • Track repair history of process support systems and equipment.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Conduct rounds in Good Manufacturing Practices (also see cGMP) and non-GMP buildings, troubleshoot GMP equipment and systems.
  • Train peers and mechanics on equipment supported by the Instrument Shop.
  • Ensure all maintenance activity is completed within designated timeframe filing proper documentation per Standard Operating Procedures as necessary for extensions.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and protocols.
  • Make recommendations regarding improved machine performance.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints and schematics.
  • Manage own time and professional development, accountable for own results and prioritize own workflow.
  • o The Maintenance Mechanic II will provide maintenance support to production suites and support areas at the Andover site. Individual will operate and perform daily checks on Direct and Indirect Production Maintenance equipment and assist other groups with repairs in compliance with company and departmental SOPs. Individual will work in a fast-paced, safety-oriented team environment and will perform tasks that are routine in nature with minimal supervision. The Individual will maintain records to comply with Good Manufacturing Practice requirements to include detailed documentation of work performed in both electronic and written form. Individual will provide Engineering support with projects related to production manufacturing.

    Shift is Wednesday through Saturday 3:00 PM to 01:30 AM.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Ensures that all maintenance activity is completed within designated timeframe filing proper documentation per SOP, identifies work order updates and LOTO updates, as necessary.
    • Reports any maintenance failure or issues immediately to management.
    • Evaluates equipment performance and makes recommendations to maintenance performance or system design.
    • Seeks to continuously improve maintenance practices.
    • Utilizes CMMS to manage the repair of process support and plant systems and equipment.
    • Troubleshoots systems or equipment and makes repairs to minimize downtime.
    • Tracks repair history of process support systems and equipment.
    • Provides needed support for the diagnostics of all equipment to ensure continuous operations.

    • Routine performance of preventative maintenance on process support systems and equipment including but not limited to:

    Pumps, Valves, Autoclaves, Centrifuges, Reactors, Tanks, HPLC Columns, Ultrafiltration skids, Microfiltration skids, and CIP Systems
    • Conducts rounds in GMP and non-GMP buildings.

    • The continuous improvement and development of maintenance practices and procedures.

    • Escorting contractors and vendors for the performance of preventative maintenance and repairs on process support systems.

    • Maintains all spaces clean and orderly.
    • Supports quality systems.
    • Works cross-functionally with other groups to accomplish tasks or projects.

Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Minimum Required Qualifications/Skills

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent

    • 3 + years’ experience in bio-pharmaceutical, or clean room environment. Experience in a Manufacturing environment required. GMP preferred. Basic mechanical knowledge. Can utilize hand tools.

    • Commitment to perform all work in a safe manner.
