Summary

The Global Brand Senior Director is responsible for leading their team in maximizing the commercial value of the assigned asset/indication. This role is responsible for actively contributing: the development program on the asset/indication as the commercial lead on the Product Development team, the development of the global brand strategy for given asset/indication, lead in managing both the tactical plan and budget in support of the global brand strategy, and serve as the lead point of contact with the Markets/Regions and commercial cross-functional team for asset/indication on strategy/execution. In addition, this role also is responsible to coach/mentor direct report(s) in the development of core marketing capabilities and equip them to own the development of impactful and compliant marketing strategies and tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Brand Leadership for assigned asset/indication
    Lead in the development of strategy, messages, campaign, tactics, brand book and execution the delivery, communication, and execution thereof
    Develop and Lead launch strategy at global level including positioning, communication platform(s)/tactics with core message, story flow, branding and associated campaigns
    Lead the cross-function/region working group to develop and align on strategy, tactics, and execution of plan
    Lead and support direct report(s) in effectively managing the tactical plan execution and budgeting process
    Exercise strong influence on the dedicated Market Insight and Analytic team by validating the customer insight & competitive intelligence plans and fully owns the forecasting assumptions that will feed the forecasting exercise
    Monitor and communicate the performance of the indications in major markets (G8 , US , EU5 , JP , China) by defining the KPI’s of the brand indication, identifying new opportunities/challenges and proposed plans to address either/both in a timely manner
  • Clinical Development and Regulatory Support and Leadership for given indication(s)/tumor(s)
    Represent and provide input as an active part of the Global Product Team
    Provide commercial insights to R&D for new opportunities to ensure the development strategy matches the customer needs to secure success of the company in the future commercialization
    Support and provide commercial input/needs to the annual clinical development plan process providing strategy, forecast, commercial valuation and viability to support decisions
    Support and provide commercial input/needs to individual clinical study designs, amendments, and readouts (Choice of the comparator, selection of endpoint, statistical assumptions, etc.)
    Support and provide commercial point of view into the regulatory document creation and amendment processes (CDDS, USPI, SmPC, CHMP) as a member the Label Working Team
    Lead development of the Target Profile (Customer Expectation) and Expected Product Profile through interaction with all regional stakeholders to make sure that the insight provided to R&D is meeting regional needs
  • Market/Region/Alliance (as applicable) Commercial Cross-functional leadership
    Lead and work in close partnership with markets/regions/alliance counterparts to ensure alignment on key strategic deliverables
    Set up a strong collaborative frame with regions to secure optimal communication and two-way dialogue/input on both critical and routine business issues between global and region, being receptive of regional feedback
    Quickly and effectively resolve conflicts and misalignments particularly with cross-functional partners, regions, and alliance counterparts to maximize result, increase speed of decision making, and minimize escalation of unresolved issues
    Lead in established cross market/region/alliance settings (indication working group, Global Business Team, Joint Business Team, Brand Summits/Forums) for given indication(s)/tumor(s)
  • People Management and Leadership
    Attract, hire, retain, coach, develop and promote talented individuals to exceed expectations in delivering on company business objectives
    Coach and support individual’s development to achieve both success in current role and prepare them for next role
    Provide feedback, coaching, support, and recognition to direct reports including objective setting, mid-year assessment, year-end review, and routine feedback as well as through rewards and recognition
    Foster a positive work environment where different work styles and approaches, that still meet the individual and team objectives, are sought out and encouraged


Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

  • Bachelor's Degree required; degree in health sciences or business/marketing preferred
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 10 or More Years of pharmaceutical business experience required
  • 4 or More Years of Oncology marketing experience in either (or a mix of) global, regional, or country level required
  • Launch experience with a new product and/or indication in Oncology required
  • Experience working across multiple countries/regions or global preferred

Travel

Ability to travel up to 30% Frequent overnight and international travel.
