Automation Software Engineer - Enterprise Benchtop
Hybrid role- you will have a choice of working from our Thousand Oaks, South San Francisco, or Burnaby sites.

In this vital role you will build leading edge scientific applications with modern technology stacks that will be used by our research partners to drive Amgens innovation in drug discovery in Discovery, Non-Clinical & Early Development. The outstanding candidate will join our Research Informatics team to deliver solutions by using best practices in Agile and DevOps.

Responsibilities:Implement and maintain data workflows that move data efficiently and optimally from instruments to enterprise storage
Automate reporting for enterprise benchtop software inventories (Microsoft SCCM), PC performance, and data workflow logs
Configure and integrate off-the-shelf enterprise benchtop components as part of technical workstreams in support of R&D scientific business objectives
Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and robust software products & components in collaboration with product management, stakeholders & engineering teams
Ensure effective design, development, and management of software products to align with security & quality standards of Amgen
Collaborate with scientists to evaluate and apply innovative technologies in the industry to meet scientific business needs

Basic Qualifications:Masters degree
OR
Bachelors degree and 2 years of software engineering experience
OR
Associates degree and 6 years of software engineering experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of software engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:Solid foundation in software design and engineering practices
Understanding of validated system documentation and testing
Experience with modern, configuration-driven laboratory platforms that include scientific plugin and/or REST API integrations
Experience with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
Strong proficiency in one or more of the following technologies:
Java or Python programming languages
Powershell, VBA, or C# scripting for benchtop PC deployment
Relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, or Postgres
Reporting platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Spotfire
AWS services related to compute and storage, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS or Batch
CI/CD pipelines, such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins
Demonstrated abilities to pick up scientific domain knowledge and understanding of scientists software requirements and workflows
Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams
High learning agility, innovation, and analytical skills
