Our Sample Management Group is seeking a hardworking Automation Associate to support the operation of automated lab equipment.  Under the direct supervision of Management, this individual will perform routine technical tasks and will begin to lead, organize, and troubleshoot more independently.  They have operational knowledge of laboratory equipment. They have a basic understanding of clinical study protocols and procedures for specimen handling and storage.  Mechanical proficiency and background or experience in programming are highly desired.

A Typical Day in This Role Might Look Like:

  • Operates automated systems including biospecimen storage and retrieval systems and liquid handlers.
  • Effectively handles errors and can perform maintenance on automated systems under supervision.
  • May assist in the training and support of groups operating automated systems.
  • Communicates effectively within Bioanalytical Sciences as well as with groups throughout Regeneron and/or outside vendors to obtain and provide equipment related assistance in support of clinical programs and collaborations.
  • May assist in the qualification and validation of new automated systems.
  • Understands automation programs with assistance.
  • Uses LIMS (Lab Information Management System) to accurately track sample movements in real time.
  • Uses ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook) for equipment documentation purposes.
  • Uses VBA macros to estimate and record run-times of tasks on automated systems.
  • May write VBA macros to support task organization and metric tracking.
  • Works well in a team-oriented environment and displays organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Maintains GLP compliance for all laboratory work and documentation related to biospecimen data management and sample handling in accordance with FDA regulations and company SOPs. Assists in maintaining GLP compliance in the laboratory.
  • Maintains cleanliness of individual and communal work areas.
  • Learns and follows safety requirements of their laboratory. Recognizes potential safety problems and acts to correct them
  • Demonstrates strong listening skills and shares information effectively with Management and team members.
  • Actively participates in and may present work at sub-team/group meetings.
  • Conducts themselves with professionalism and integrity while maintaining a strong work ethic.
  • Participates in their own professional and personal development. Communicates effectively with their manager with respect to performance management.

This Role May Be For You If:

You have a Bachelor’s degree with 0-4 years of experience OR a Master's degree with 0-2 years of experience.
