Director – Ophthalmology brand performance / advanced analytics role is a part of the Insights & Analytics team under Commercial Operations. As a part of the team, this role will collaborate with sales and marketing business partners, customer insights and data management teams to develop deeper national / sub-national analytics / insights for Ophthalmology Business Unit. This role will also support market development activities in diabetic eye disease area as well as launch of any new pipeline products within Ophthalmology.

A typical day might include the following:  

• Building out comprehensive analytics/insights for wet AMD / Diabetic eye disease in collaboration with customer insights team and HEOR teams e.g. deeper understanding of disease progression, predictive targeting approaches, robust epi-based patient flow models, etc.
• Supporting development of patient flow models for new indications/new formulations.
• Conducting sub-national growth drivers analyses and working closely with market access and data science teams to build local resource allocation models and pull through strategies
• Supporting integrated business planning for sales teams
• Developing account level influence mapping for sales force / account management
• Developing rich account level insights using patient level data sets (including segmentation and opportunity assessment)
• Performing Digital and DTC reporting / analytics for consumer campaigns
• Supporting GPO reporting and trade analytics for Ophthalmology Business unit to understand customer buying patterns and trends i.e. by quintiles, geography, brand market share, etc. 
• Identifying business needs and proposing potential analytics approaches for solutions
• Presenting analysis ideas, progress and results to business partners
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to coordinate cross-functional analysis and data acquisition.
• Assuring compliance with regulatory, security, and privacy requirements as it relates to data assets

This role may be for you if you:

• In-depth knowledge and data mining experience using secondary subnational prescription and sales data required.  Experience with longitudinal patient, specialty pharmacy/ hub data strongly preferred. Familiarity with frequently used pharma data sources like IQVIA, Symphony, etc. strongly preferred

• Experience in resource optimization, commercial mix modeling or alignment, targeting, and call planning highly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, and PowerPoint required
• Presentation skills to take sophisticated analysis and apply a business context for non-analytical associates required
• Detail-oriented technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent organization/planning skills and talent for managing many large and complex datasets

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a Master's degree completed by start date and 7+ years of business analytics, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, engineering, computer science or related field experience OR a Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of business analytics, statistics, data mining, applied mathematics, engineering, computer science or related field experience. BS/BA required. Advanced degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics) preferred.10+ years' progressive, related industry experience with a minimum 7 years analytical experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries. Commercial business intelligence tool report creation experience required (any, but e.g.:  QlikView, Tableau, Oracle BI, Microstrategy, Cognos, Spotfire) SAS code-writing skills (BASE, STAT, SQL, Macros) preferred, SQL query-writing required.
