The Role:

The Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic, effective, and influential relationships in support of our rapidly expanding global organization including Legal, Brand and Corporate Affairs, Finance, Human Resources and Digital. She/He/They will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of key cross-functional and Human Resources-related projects and objectives. The individual possesses a track record of successfully influencing and partnering with senior-level global leadership and HR peers to build organizational capability and design efficient global, cross-functional teams. This HR leader will establish foundational processes, provide clear communication, and foster effective teams. The primary purpose of this role is to partner with the relevant leadership teams to deliver against the business and people growth objectives, promoting a high-performance culture. In addition, this role will be a strong people manager and lead a small, global team - mentorship, empathy, empowerment, and an eye for development is key.

The Vice President, Human Resources Business Partner will also be part of the Human Resources Leadership team and will work with that team, and other subject matter experts, to align practices and initiatives with the Companys overarching strategic and operational goals.

Heres What Youll Do:

  • Provide strategic counsel to the key corporate functions and leadership in the areas of organizational effectiveness, org design, talent management, succession, employee development, executive coaching, and employee relations.

  • Lead and grow an established team of strategic, global HR business partners who support the various leadership teams, Moderna Enterprise Solutions Hub locations, and employees within the corporate functions

  • Be the lead of talent decisions and workforce planning, in partnership with Talent Acquisition partners to enable a strategic global workforce plan

  • Provide support to the multiple areas of the corporate functions, working cross-functionally and assisting colleagues at many levels in optimizing the performance of their teams, aligning on shared goals and imperatives, and resolving issues

  • Contribute to creating, and executing on, solutions for best practice initiatives in such areas as employment, employee communication, performance management, HR operations, talent and career development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and HRIS delivery

  • Support continued growth and infrastructure by identifying talent gaps and development areas across global G&A organizations - and other areas as the business grows

  • Provide guidance and key input on proactive workforce and long-range planning, identify gaps in capability, and develop action plans to address.

  • Contribute to the HR transformation underway at Moderna and the evolving role of the HRBP, HR Operations, and COE (Center of Excellence) functions.

  • Represent Corporate functions in business reviews and conversations at the Executive Committee level on talent strategies, programs, initiatives, and organizational needs and imperatives.

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • Prior successful experience working in a high growth environment, in the technology, biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry is required

  • Prior proven, executive-level HR business partnership experience within a global commercial organization, including organizational design/effectiveness, team building, performance management, career coaching and leadership development

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 20+ years progressive Human Resources experience in employee relations, talent management, compensation & benefits, performance management, recruiting, and training

  • Strong ability to maintain, shape and evolve culture

  • Proven experience in influencing business and functional strategies and change management through an organization and teams

  • Strong collaborative style, with the ability to flex to the needs of different business leaders and comfort in challenging assumptions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Experience leading or participating in enterprise-wide initiatives in a fast growth environment is required, including skill in partnering with other members of the HR team and the executive team to drive corporate goals

  • Experience with establishing new global HR processes and identifying/implementing innovative HR digital solutions. We are digital first at Moderna
