SUMMARY

This person will be responsible for executing Promotional Medical Education (PME) marketing across current and any upcoming REXULTI indications.  Through collaboration with an alliance partner, this individual will lead Peer-to-Peer activities across current indications and life cycle management opportunities including content strategy and development, speaker bureau creation & management, congress strategy, and KOL engagement, ensuring all are in alignment with brand strategy.  In addition, this person will serve as the Lundbeck lead for PME-related logistics associated with Abilify Maintena Promotional Medical Education activities.  This person keeps a keen eye on REXULTI performance and contributes to ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales and profit goals.  This individual effectively executes PME initiatives/resources through influencing Lundbeck cross functional partners and alliance colleagues.  This individual proactively engages cross-functional stakeholders in Medical, Sales, and the Sales Leadership.  Additional responsibilities include NPP Tactical Planning & Competitive Intelligence. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Marketing Strategy

  • Contributes to development of brand strategy for current REXULTI indications to drive brand performance by utilizing sound marketing principles, analytics, and available market research.  Ensures PME needs are represented during tactical planning.
  • Successfully prepares for any upcoming REXULTI indications by formulating effective market-priming & launch PME strategies
  • Works closely with sales and brand leadership to monitor brand performance and drive optimizations to increase revenue/profit and achieve overall brand success
  • Proactively considers/identifies new strategies, tactics and vendors to challenge the team’s thinking and raise the level of performance
  • Partners with agencies to develop promotional materials/initiatives

 

Marketing Execution

  • Leads development and implementation of PME promotional materials to continue brand growth
  • Leads speaker bureau creation & PME execution for new indications to support successful launches
  • Coordinates across functions, ensuring high level of peer-to-peer programming, congress activity, and leads annual NPP tactical planning
  • Drives development of peer-to-peer content and coordinates with Sales Strategies Lead to ensure content alignment across brand functions
  • Ensure resources, including peer-to-peer budget, congress product theatres, and congress booths are optimally deployed/executed
  • Functions as the primary brand team liaison with KOLs and coordinates KOL meetings for brand at congresses
  • Functions as the primary marketing liaison with Field Medical
  • For all initiatives, whenever possible and appropriate, establishes ways to measure impact, reports results, and adjusts plans accordingly
  • Ensures all marketing projects are compliant and have obtained necessary approvals through the appropriate medical, legal, and regulatory review process
  • Manages day-to-day brand budget for PME activities

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence

  • Partners closely with Lundbeck cross-functional team and alliance partner to develop PME strategy, messaging, and tactics
  • Establishes strong relationship with the alliance and influences alliance partners to ensure joint decision making that is sound and reasonable
  • Ensures Lundbeck’s needs and POV are represented in alliance interactions, cultivating trust and respect, and asserting when necessary
  • Implements promotional materials and programs by providing appropriate direction to Sales Leadership

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years sales, marketing or other relevant commercial experience
  • 4+ years pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech or healthcare brand marketing, training, sales or other commercial experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, and influence without authority
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • MBA or master’s degree
  • Experience selling or marketing mental health products to psychiatrists and PCPs
  • Experience selling or marketing Atypical Antipsychotics
  • Experience in development and execution of marketing promotional tactics
  • Experience managing third-party vendors/agencies, keeping them on-time, in budget and ensuring that their activities are aligned with brand strategy
  • Experience working with alliance partners
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience and knowledge of US marketing
  • Knowledge of OPDP and FDA regulations associated with promotion and industry-supported scientific education activities
  • Field sales experience 

 

TRAVEL

  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time domestically. International travel may be required.

 

The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000 and eligibility for a 15% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
