We are currently looking for an Automation Technician to join our growing team. Regeneron successfully manufactures a range of biopharmaceuticals for patients worldwide, including our approved therapeutic proteins and those involved in clinical studies. Our Automation Technicians are responsible for supporting and troubleshooting operation of industrial computerized machine control and monitoring systems in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing/filling/packaging cGMP environment for Regeneron’s Industrial Operation and Product Supply organization.

Please note this will be a Monday-Friday 1st shift 8:00am-4:30pm position for approximately 6 months for training. Working hours thereafter will be 1st shift 8:00am-4:30pm Tuesday-Saturday.

As an Automation Technician, a typical day might include the following:

  • Providing technical Automation support and troubleshooting for Manufacturing operations.

  • Communicating and coordinating Automation issue resolution for manufacturing and facilities groups.

  • Assisting Manufacturing and Facilities groups during equipment setup and changeover.

  • Providing Automation support and assistance during Maintenance activities on Fill/Finish equipment and Clean Utilities systems.

  • Implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions on Automated systems.

  • Developing and executing Automation functional tests to assure systems are suitable for intended service.

  • Supporting deviation investigation activities and delivers required information.

  • Full gowning when entering and working on production floor.

This role might be for you if you:
  • Have experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and computerized systems, preferably in a regulated environment.

  • Are knowledgeable about ladder logic, electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.

  • Can diagnose electrical control and instrumentation circuits using basic troubleshooting skills and a Digital Multimeter.

  • Have demonstrated knowledge of process control and machine automation in a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Are able to interpret Software Lifecycle Documentation, engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for regulated process equipment.

  • Possess a basic understanding of bioprocessing equipment design principles, sanitary equipment design requirements, and data integrity regulations.

  • Are able to balance changing priorities with increasing workload by making timely decisions.

  • Enjoy interacting with employees at all levels and communicating cross functionally across multiple departments.

  • Find working in an ambiguous environment with changing priorities exciting.

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

To be considered for the Automation Technician position you must be willing and able to train Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm for approximately 6 months and then transition to your regular shift, which will be Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Ideal candidates should have an AS/AT/AAT in Engineering or related field and the following minimum amounts of experience supporting control systems and/or data acquisition systems, with special emphasis on machine controls. Experience may be substituted for education requirement.

  • Automation Technician 0+ years of related experience
  • Automation Technician II: 2+ years of related experience
  • Automation Technician III: 5+ years of related experience
  • Automation Technician IV: 8+ years of related experience

Level will be determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.

Specific knowledge of Allen-Bradley control system products is strongly preferred. Basic knowledge of B&R control system products is helpful. Experience with servers, virtualization, distributed control, and basic networking preferred.
