ROLE SUMMARY

Working within the Reliability Maintenance environment, performs preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, and maintains company process control systems and provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc). Can serve as a maintenance advisor in areas of engineering (process design, material selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem solving methodology, project scope and follow up. Routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. May work variable shifts and 24 hour on-call as required. Participates in multicraft work activities as required.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost effective manner. Routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. Participates in multicraft work activities as required.

The Process Instrument person also installs, configures, maintains and repairs complex computer systems, from Process Logic Controllers to Distributive control systems. He/she configures, calibrates, maintains and repairs state of the art electronic ("smart") process measuring and control instruments, while still maintaining expertise in older technologies, such as pneumatic. He/she has to be aware of and adhere to all electrical codes, particularly intrinsic safety.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma / general education degree (GED) with 6+ years of experience required.

  • Basic computer user skills are required. Completion of a company apprenticeship program, or its equivalent, is required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Potential for exposure to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, noisy, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. Participates in multicraft work activities as required.

The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Procedures is a must.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Potential 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts needed.

Weekend, holiday, and overtime may be required to meet business or customer needs. This operation will work 24x7x365
