General Scope and Summary

SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a resourceful, results-oriented, integrative thinker for a role that is responsible for management of Health Economic Outcomes Research (HEOR) publication planning and execution. The Associate Director, HEOR Publications is responsible for interacting with various researchers, KOLs, HCPs, and internal SAGE departments to lead HEOR publication planning and management while ensuring compliance with good publication practices and scientific merit of HEOR publications.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with HEOR Research and Value Demonstration teams, ensure development and execution of the HEOR communications strategy for Sage.

  • Partner with Medical Affairs Publication counterparts to ensure alignment and execution of HEOR communication strategy. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic publications efforts are planned and aligned to meet product development and unmet needs.

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Field Medical, and HEOR teams to translate available data publication evidence into medical communications and educational resources.

  • Identifying opportunities for communicating HEOR research and publications internally and on external Sage platforms in collaboration with Internal Communications and Digital Communications teams.

  • Actively facilitate the development and targets of abstracts, posters, presentations, and manuscripts for HEOR and clinical meetings.

  • Manage medical writing and external vendor activity to ensure timely delivery of publications, including the submission and review processes.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to publication policies in accordance with good publication practices through active management of the publication process.

  • Manage assigned publications spend to ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation to available budget.

  • Maintain a roster of HEOR congresses and events for publication and presentation opportunities.

  • Maintain SharePoint with all published HEOR materials.

  • Ensure fair balance and integrity in development of HEOR publications.

  • Represent SAGE in ongoing collaboration with KOLs in development of HEOR publications and at various congress meetings.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical and/or scientific background.

  • 6+ years of experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in managing HEOR communications efforts.

  • Experience managing HEOR communications efforts in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Experience in medical/scientific writing in an agency or consultancy.

  • Prior women’s health, critical care, epilepsy, neurology, and/or psychiatry experience.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills, and proven ability to effectively collaborate and influence decision-making across multiple levels of an organization.

  • Must be willing and able to travel for scientific congress meetings as necessary.

  • Ability to actively manage and track multiple complex projects in parallel, structuring the actions of many people towards shared outcomes.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
